A few days ago, Toys R Us released a “new” LEGO Seasonal set with the Iconic Easter Minifigure (5004468), otherwise known as the Chicken Suit Guy. This set retails for $5.99 and is currently available at Toys R Us stores in the US, if you can find them.
Outside of the box is a sleeve that slips off. The box is very simple looking and there’s nothing too special about it. The shape and artwork for the box resembles a small hen house with some Easter egg around it. The door opens up to reveal the Chicken Suit Guy sitting in one of those black container molds that we’ve seen in the Target Minifigure Boxes.
As for the Chicken Suit Guy, he’s pretty much the same minifigure as from the Series 9 Collectible Minifigures (71000). The only notable visual difference from the two is the head on the original one is hollow while the new one is solid. I also noticed the legs on the new one were somewhat more loose than the old one.
Overall, I’m not sure what the purpose of the Iconic Easter (5004468) set is other than being a little Seasonal set that kids can enjoy. As for collectors, this set is a good opportunity to get the Chicken Suit Guy if you missed out on him three years ago. Since the release of this set, the price for the minifigure on the secondary market has dropped dramatically but as with these fairly exclusive sets, some are buying them up in hopes to resell so there’s really no difference from what was happening before.
