As I mentioned earlier this morning, LEGO has sent over a new LEGO Seasonal set with the Christmas Wreath (40426). There was no information about it regarding the piece count or the price but we do know that it will be available starting on October 1. We do know that it has 510 pieces by counting the number of parts in the instructions.
The box comes in the flap style so you don’t have to tear down the box after opening and there’s a good reason for that which I’ll show later. There are six numbered bags to 3 and two instruction booklets.
The base of the wreath consists of 16 sections, 15 of which are exactly the same. The last one has a string attached to it for you to hang. The 15 sections aren’t too tedious as they are pretty quick builds. The diameter of it is almost at 10″.
The first booklet allows you to build the main wreath as shown on the box. The red bow prominently sits at the top section where the string is at. The foliage is spread out evenly with various leaf pieces.
This set is a 2-in-1 set and the alternate build is an Advent wreath which is in instruction booklet two. You have to take off the foliage to get back at the base and then you can add the slightly changed leaves. There are also four different sized candles on four areas of the wreath which represent the four weeks of Advent. There are also some smaller bows on top and bottom of the wreath.
At the end of instruction booklet two, LEGO also includes four additional ideas on how to design your wreath but actual building instructions are not included.
Overall, the LEGO Seasonal Christmas Wreath (40426) is different to what we’re used to getting for the seasonal sets. The box doesn’t show the age range since we have the European version but it seems that the set is geared to the older audience. Speaking of the box, the size of it allows you to fit the wreath inside without breaking it down for future use. Judging from the response of my reveal this morning, it’ll be a pretty popular set when it releases in a few weeks. It all depends on what LEGO prices it at. I have a feeling it’ll be around the $24.99-$34.99 range since it has 510 pieces but we’ll see.
