There’s a new set that will be releasing soon for Black Friday with the LEGO Seasonal Charles Dickens Tribute (40410) based on A Christmas Carol. The set has 325 pieces and you will be able to get it for free with purchases of $150 or more during the early VIP Black Friday weekend November 20-21 or next week from November 27-30, while supplies last. The contents of the box include four un-numbered bags, the instruction booklet, and a sticker sheet.
There are three minifigures in the set which include Ebenezer Scrooge, Bob Cratchit, and Tiny Tim. Scrooge has on a black suit with some gray pants. His face shows him with a very stern demeanor and it shows him with long gray sideburns. To complete his look, he has a black top hat and an umbrella.
Bob Cratchit has on a tattered dark green striped vest which you can see on the front and back of the torso. His face shows a content look and his hair is the somewhat slicked back one.
Tiny Tim has on a tan sweater with a red scarf around the neck and short brown legs. He has a double-sided head showing a little smile on one side and a sad look on the other with some dirt on the face. His accessory is his crutch that he uses to walk around.
As for the build, it is make into a style of the book with a scent on the top. The most of the build is for the book which doubles up as the base. The use of the tan textured bricks to represent the pages is a good design.
The spine of the book is nicely detailed but it does use a number of the stickers. The middle of the spine where it shows A Christmas Carol with Charles Dickens is able to open up to show a little storage area.
The main scene is inside the Cratchit household where it has a brick-built fireplace decorated with a wreath and some candles. Attached on the chimney shaft with a picture which is a sticker. Next to the fireplace is a small and unattractive Christmas tree. You can also see on the inside walls some stickers that shows some exposed bricks.
On the outside of the house, there’s a short tree as well as some tree stumps which are stickers. There’s also a street lamp and a little lantern nearby as well.
Overall, the LEGO Seasonal Charles Dickens Tribute (40410) is a neat little set that fans of A Christmas Carol may enjoy. The minifigures are the main part of the story so it’s nice to have them included. The build is interesting but I would have preferred if the scene was on the inside pages and not on the cover. Speaking of the outside cover, I have no idea why there’s a pullout holder on the spine. I honestly don’t see any purpose of it since it can’t even store a minifigure.
