In my next review of the April 2022 wave of LEGO Marvel mechs, we have the Iron Man Mech Armor (76203). The set has 131 pieces and retails for $9.99.
Minifigure
There is an Iron Man minifigure included in the set and it looks to be based on the Mark XLII suit from Iron Man 3. A majority of the armor is gold colored with most of the red on the arms and helmet. The coloring and design has been updated from the 2013 version, especially in the legs. The double-sided head shows Tony Stark with a smile on one side and an angry look on the other with the HUD printing also on the face. The helmet uses a single piece and not the one with the flip up faceplate. His accessories include a pair of trans-blue Power Blasts.
Build
The build is a simple one that uses a lot of ball joints for the arms and legs. The coloring is similar to the Mark XLII suit but the mech has a bit more red to it. The front has a plate that flips down for the minifigure to stand in. The shield piece is printed with the Arc Reactor.
For the arms, the shoulders have a cloudy trans-blue tile that looks a bit off compared to the rest of the figure. The right hand has a sticker or some detailing with a large stud shooter while the left has a large shield piece.
The legs are pretty blad but the feet also have stickers for some detailing as well. Since they have a lot of joints, you can get some really good poses out of it.
Results
Overall the LEGO Marvel Iron Man Mech Armor (76203) isn’t my favorite out of this wave but the design looks decent. I’m nont too sure about the blue pieces on the shoulders as they look out of place. I would’ve preferred if they were on the palm of the hands. The Iron Man minifigure is a good update but the lack of a open faceplate on the helmet is a minus as you can display him without it since he doesn’t come with a separate hair piece.
Thank you to LEGO for sending in this set for me to review. The content above represents my own opinion and not the company. Review sets sent in does not guarantee a positive review.
