Next up on my reviews of the LEGO Avatar sets, we now check out Jake & Neytiri’s First Banshee Flight (75572). The set has 572 pieces andn retails for $59.99.
Minifigures
There are two minifigures in this set, Jake and Neytiri. Jake has rather bland printing for his torso as he is pretty much shirtless and has loincloth printing at the hip and legs. His accessory is a spear.
Neytiri has more detailed printing at the torso which shows the outfit she wears for most of the movie. Note that this version of Neytiri is different from the one in Neytiri & Thanator vs. AMP Suit Quaritch (75571). Like Jake, she has a spear as an accessory.
Build
The first thing of the build is a small waterfall section of the the Hallelujah Mountains. These are the floating mountains on Pandora where the Banshees/Ikran roost. Like with the other parts of the LEGO rainforest sections, there are some colorful plants as well as some glow in the dark flowers as well. There are some areas where the two Banshees in the set can connect on to show them flying around.
The two builds for the Banshees are exactly the same besides the coloring of them, one of them being turquoise while the other has shades of blue. There is a seat behind the neck for Jake and Neytiri with some rubber hoses for tsaheylu that connects behind the head. Again, like with my previous review, it takes some time to get the minifigure in position while connecting the hose. It tends to not sit properly or the whole hair piece pops off.
The two sets of limbs are made of Technic connectors that have some ball sockets to allow the plastic wing pieces to hook on to.
Results
The LEGO Avatar Jake & Neytiri’s First Banshee Flight (75572) is somewhat a boring set. The Banshees don’t look bad at all but it is repetitive since the two largest parts of the build are the exact same. LEGO breaks up the building process by having you build Hallelujah Mountains between the two Banshees. I wouldn’t pay full price for the set and would wait for a decent discount.
