The LEGO Collectible Minifigures continues in 2023 with Series 24 (71037) which will be releasing on January 1. Some stores may have already put them out early. This wave consists of 12 different characters from a wide range of themes. Each packet will cost $4.99 each or you can get a 6 Pack (66733) for $29.94.
Football Referee
Although we barely missed the World Cup by a few days, the Football Referee makes an appearance in the set. The neon yellow on the uniform is a bit brighter than the skin color. The torso shows her with a whistle hanging from the neck and the arms have printing of a couple of watches. The dual molded legs have printing of the Sport logo. She does have a double-sided head with a smirk on one side and a yelling expression on the other. Both sides have the mic printing as well. Her accessories include a yellow card and a red card represented by 1×2 tiles and a soccer ball.
Robot Warrior
The Robot Warrior has a sporadic color scheme with the torso and legs having sand green, white, lime green, and pink. There’s armor printing is very detailed throughout the minifigure on the torso, arms, and legs. The head printing has an interesting design but the helmet is even more cooler. The back of it even has an exhaust vent and shows the printing on the back of the head. The brick-built blaster has an interesting parts usage with the pink roller skates but it works well.
Brown Astronaut and Spacebaby
Another astronaut minifigure joins the ever growing line up of various colored ones and this version is the brown one. There’s nothing too fancy about it as it is the exact same design as the other ones with the Classic Space logo in the middle of the torso. It’s accessory is a printed Space Baby monitor which shows Spacebaby sleeping.
The new addition is the Spacebaby who seems to be the offspring of Benny, aka Benny Jr., aka Baby Benny. It’s the same design as other baby minifigures and the head is molded into the helmet and airtank.
Carrot Mascot
The mascot minifigures continue on with this wave with the Carrot Mascot. He wears some dark green overalls but you can’t really see it with the carrot costume over him. He has a double-sided head with smiles on both sides. His accessory is a Farmers Market sign and an orange hair piece when he doesn’t have the carrot on.
Falconer
The LEGO Castle theme even makes an appearance in Series 24 with the Falconer. She has a blue torso which shows the Black Falcon emblem and a printed cape on the back. She does also have a physical fabric cape as well. The legs have belt printing as well as a pouch on side. She has a double-sided head with a stern look on one side and a smile on the other. Her accessories include a bow and arrow as well as a new falcon mold which uses the hard plastic.
T-Rex Costume Fan
There’s also an animal costume in this wave with the T-Rex Costume Fan. He’s pretty much dressed in a similar color scheme as the T-Rex from the LEGO Jurassic World line. The arms have some stripe printing while the legs have some on the knees and feet. There is a rubber tail that goes between the torso and legs. He has a double-sided head with a ferocious expression on one side and a smile on the other. There is surprisingly no accessory with him. A bone would’ve been a good choice.
Orc
If you’re a fantasy fan, the Orc could go well with the Lord of the Rings or even the upcoming LEGO Dungeons & Dragons line. The torso is pretty simple with the cross chest harness. The legs have some printing for the loincloth. The most interesting piece that the Orc has is the new molded chin piece which goes between the head and torso and covers the lower part of the head making it have some pointed ears and elongated lower teeth. A ponytail and a tattered fabric cape completes its look. Its accessories include a sword and a printed shield featuring the Fantasy Era emblem.
Conservationist
The Conservationist wears a green shirt with printing of his name badge on the front and the Rescue logo on the back. The legs are dual molded showing some tan khaki pants and brown boots. He has a double-sided head showing smiles on both sides. His cap is molded on to his curly blond hair. His accessory is a koala bear that is able to hold a stem.
Potter
The Potter has on a lavender shirt under an apron which has some splatter around the legs. Her double-sided head shows her with smiles on both sides. She has a teal colored towel wrapped around her head. Her accessories includes a brick-built pottery wheel with a goblet and a bowl.
Rococo Aristocrat
Probably the most interesting minifigure in Series 24 is the Rococo Aristocrat. It features her in a detailed pink dress which includes a 2×4 dress piece. She also has a double-sided head with two happy expressions. Her white hair piece is brand new. Her accessory is a new white chihuahua.
Rockin’ Horse Rider
On to what I think is the more bland minifigures in this wave is the Rockin’ Horse Rider. She’s basically a little girl that has on a unicorn sweater. She only has a single-sided head showing off her smile while wearing some glasses. The rocking horse is able to rock with her sitting on it without tipping over using the jumper piece. It also has a spot on the bottom to display on the stand as well.
Newspaper Kid
The Newspaper Kid is you old fashioned minifigure that would find in older times. He wears a white shirt with suspenders and has a satchel going across the chest. He only had a single-sided head of him shouting. He wears a new hat piece that looks good on him. His accessories include a slingshot and a printed newspaper featuring a LEGO Police minifigure.
Results
Overall the Series 24 LEGO Collectible Minifigures (71037) is a solid wave with plenty of unique characters for fans to enjoy. There are obvious ones that stand out like the Brown Astronaut, Rococo Aristocrat, and the costume mascots but there aren’t any ones that are bad. The most boring one to me is probably the Rockin’ Horse Rider but even then, the horse is nice to have. Army builder characters are also represented such as the Robot Warrior and the Orc, the Conservationist if you have like a zoo in your layout.
