Next up on my reviews of the LEGO Super Mario sets, we have Peach’s Garden Balloon Ride (71419) which has 453 pieces and retails for $49.99.
This set is one of larger sets in the wave in terms of pieces and playability. There really isn’t a starting area but I guess it could the lawn area where Pink Yoshi is at. It is brick-built like every other Yoshi and there’s a scanner tile to connect to.
At the T-intersection, there’s a fountain which you can knock over to reveal a Coin Block.
To the right, there’s a cloudy area where Pom Pom is stationed at. Pom Pom is also brick-built and she has some printed pieces for her face and body. Her accessory is not accurate as she has a boomerang instead of her usual ribbon shuriken.
The left of the fountain is a little garden with a turnip sitting on top that you can pop off by hopping on the ramp. To the right of that is a path to a Beanstalk that goes up to the clouds.
The last part of the course is Blue Toad’s house. There’s not much here but there is a Super Star Block in the chimney smoke. As for Blue Toad, most of his parts are printed including the cap, torso, and his face with a winking expression.
Lastly we have the pink hot air balloon that fairly large and well made. The front part of the balloon is able to open up to reveal a lava bubble hidden inside.
Overall, the LEGO Super Mario Peach’s Garden Balloon Ride (71419) is actually a pretty good set with a lot of playability. The hot air balloon is a really nice model that could be incorporated into other layouts. Although Peach is not included, there’s still a good number of characters that are in the set. The price is on point as there are a number of large pieces as well as printed parts.
Thank you to LEGO for sending in this set for me to review. The content above represents my own opinion and not the company. Review sets sent in does not guarantee a positive review.
