The Series 25 LEGO Collectible Minifigures (71045) releases in a few days and we’ve gotten a box of them to check out. Unlike the previous series where we’ve gotten the two row boxes, we now have these 12 pack hanger boxes as well. The front shows all the characters that you’re able to get while the sides have the Vampire Knight and the E-Sports Gamer and each hanger box contains 12 mystery boxes.
Film Noir Detective
The Film Noir Detective has the grayscale color scheme and he wears a trench coat with black boots. The coat also has a fabric collar that goes around the neck. The head is all white and he has a gray mustache. His accessories include a magnifying glass and a red herring.
E-Sports Gamer
The E-Sports Gamer has a really nice jersey with the Black Falcons logo as well as the sports mountain logo on the corner and the Vita Rush logo on the back. The sides of the legs also have the Black Falcons logo going down too. Her double-sided head shows her with a stern look on one side and a happy expression on the other. Her accessories include a RGB keyboard tile as well as a mouse. She also has a headset around the neck.
Vampire Knight
The Vampire Knight pays homage to Basil the Bat Lord from the Fright Knights. It’s possible that he is Basil and has turned into a vampire. The red armor has been updated a little with metallic gold detailing on both sides of the torso. The legs are dual molded showing the bottom part of the armor along with black boots. His double-sided head shows him with the same mustache as the original Basil and he has smiling expressions on both sides. His bat helmet also been updated as well and has a round top instead of a stud. His accessories include an axe and a shield with the Fright Knights logo along with a stiffer cape with the logo on the back.
Sprinter
The first thing that you see on the Sprinter is that he uses some running blades. Both sides of the torso shows the runner number of 2024 which is the year this set officially releases. His double-sided head shows him with a determined, sweaty look and a happy expression. His accessories include a gold medal as well as a podium.
Goatherd
The Goatherd has on a green shirt with a wool vest. The legs show him with a bag and some brown boots. His double-sided expressions include a content look on one side and him sleeping on the other. His accessories include a hood along with a bag with a round tile, possibly goat food, and a stick. The main feature here is the return of the goat. This new one is just plain white with no spots and has tan horns.
Mushroom Sprite
The Mushroom Sprite is a little girl that wears a white dress with a separate skirt piece. Her double-sided head shows her with smiles on both sides. She does wear a big red and white mushroom cap which could be used for Toad if LEGO ever decides to make Super Mario minifigures. Her accessory is a butterfly.
Fitness Instructor
The Fitness Instructor’s torso has a coral colored sports bra that also shows her toned physique. Her right arm has printing of a floral tattoo that covers the length of the arm. The legs show her with some gray leggings that has the sports mountain logo. Her double-sided head shows her with a determined look on one side and a smile on the other. Her accessories include a 10 pound kettle bell and a Vita Rush drink.
Triceratops Costume Fan
The Triceratops Costume Fan continues the tradition of having a costumed character in the Collectible Minifigures series. The triceratops torso has some spots on the arms and the back as well as on the tail piece. The head piece is specially molded and it looks really good.
Harpy
The Harpy has a blue and purple color scheme with the torso showing dark blue fur on the chest, back, and arms. The legs are also dark blue and they use the faun legs with printing for the talons. It also uses a neck bracket for its wings. The head shows a menacing snarl and has ponytail piece. Its accessories include a pair of claws.
Train Kid
The Train Kid is another costumed character and he is wearing a green locomotive. The front of the train has a printed dish with the number 25 which signifies the series number of Collectible Minifigures. He does also wear a pair of blue overalls as well. His face shows him with a patch over the right eye which shows another disability that kids could connect with when playing.
Fierce Barbarian
The Fierce Barbarian kind of reminds me of Red Sonja who first appeared in Conan the Barbarian. She has a full armor plate that has some metallic copper printing. The arms also have printing of some leather wrappings. The legs have printing of a red loincloth along with her boots. Her double-sided head shows her with a stern look on one side and with war paint on the other. Her distinct feature is the red hair with the band going around it. Her accessory is a sword.
Pet Groomer
The Pet Groomer has a teal shirt with a black apron going down to the legs. There is some metallic gold printing on the paw logo and on the bottom of the apron. She has a double-sided head that has smiles on both sides. Her accessories include a pair of scissors as well as a tan Afghan Hound. I don’t keep up with the LEGO animals but the Afghan could be a new one.
Results
Overall the Series 25 LEGO Collectible Minifigures (71045) is a very good wave with a lot nostalgic feel to it like with the Vampire Knight and the Goatherd. I suspect those will be the more popular ones with the new goat piece leading the way. It probably won’t crash the secondary market value of the original goat but it might drop it just a little bit. There’s also diversity in the wave as well with two characters with disabilities.
The only downside with the set in general is the blind boxes. We’ve said it before but being sustainable comes as a cost and the boxes will get ripped open like with the the Marvel Series before this one. There’s already been reports of Series 25 on shelves already but there’s also images of the boxes being ripped apart as well. One good thing about these hanger boxes is that from what I’ve seen so far, you do get a full complete set of 12 minifigures if they haven’t been tampered with yet.
