Build

The build starts with the black base with the curved sides. In the middle, there are some Technic beams in the middle to keep the mask stable.

The building of the mask itself is pretty simple as it mostly uses bricks with studs on the side along with brackets to get the SNOT look. There are also some sloped bricks to give the mask space for certain angles for the panels that go on later.

The front of the mask uses some printed shell pieces which are connected by hinge pieces to give it slight angles. The cheeks also have printed curved slopes on the panels are clipped on but they don’t actually match up with the mouth so there’s visible gaps here and there.

The thing that stands out the most on the Spider-Man Mask are the eyes. They use white 3×3 curved slope bricks with black tiles and slopes surrounding them to make them pop more. They are secured using ball joints.

The panels on the sides of the head uses stickered slopes which is fine but there are empty detail spaces and it does throw off the flow.of being uniform. I guess LEGO was trying to save some money here by printing less stickers.

The same goes for the top of the head where it uses 5 of the 11 stickers. If you’re looking from the top-front, you’ll see a very unsightly gap.

The back of the head also uses one of those printed shell pieces. Like with the side of the head, there are areas of empty details but it doesn’t matter as much since you’re really not displaying it from the back.

Lastly on the display stand, there’s a simple printed plaque showing LEGO Marvel Spider-Man.

Results

Overall the LEGO Marvel Spider-Man’s Mask (76285) does look really good and LEGO has pretty much done what they could given the inability to make fully curved objects.

Excusing the small gaps here and there, the front of the mask looks spot on and you can easily recognize that it is of Spider-Man. The sides and the back aren’t as polished as the front but as I mentioned before, you’re not really displaying it from the back so it’s okay.

The pricing of the set is also a downside as it does feel on the expensive side coming in at $69.99. I think a set like this would have been better priced at $49.99 or even $54.99 but at its current price, I wouldn’t suggest getting it unless it’s on sale.
