A Minecraft Movie is now out in theaters and surprisingly, it’s been a hit with it being on track to earn $150 million during the opening weekend. LEGO has released a few new sets for the movie and the first one we’ll be checking out is the Woodland Mansion Fighting Ring (21272). The set has 491 pieces and retails for $49.99. Note that I have not seen the movie so I don’t have any context of what’s going on in the set.

Minifigures
There are three minifigures in the set, Seve, Garrett, and Henry. Steve is wearing a light blue sweater and since it’s Jack Black, there is some printing of his belly. His double-sided head does have his two colored beard with a smile on one side and an angry expression on the other.

Garrett is played by Jason Momoa and he’s wearing a bright pink leather jacket with some streamers on the back. He also has a white shirt with a face in the middle. His double-sided head shows him with a scared expression on one side and him wearing sunglasses on the other. This side kind of gives off a Macho Man Randy Savage look if you have a different hairpiece.

Next we have Henry who wears a red hoodie with a name tag. His double-sided head shows him with a smile on one side and a scared look on the other. His accessories include a bag and an axe.

Finally we have the baby zombie. It has a torn up blue shirt on both sides of the torso. The head is the blocky style and it has an angry expression.

Build
There are a few builds in this set. First is the brick-built chicken which has a seat for the baby zombie.

Next up is the great hog. The body has a chain going across the torso with a golden belt. The arm are on ball joints with the right one being a prosthetic arm cannon. The head is also on a ball joint and it has a metal snout with tusks on the sides. The eyes use some printed 1×2 tiles. The legs are are connected with Technic pins and they look weird because they aren’t straight on.

Next up there’s a mansion facade built in the Minecraft style. The lower floor ahas a weapons rack with an axe and a sword. The other side has chest with some gold ingots. The upper levels have some potion jars.

Lastly we have the fighting ring which is 14×14 in size. There are two handles that you can attach minifigures on for them to duel. Basically you push and pull the handle to knock a minifigure off the pedastal. At the side, there are three point markers for each side.

Results
Overall, the LEGO Minecraft Woodland Mansion Fighting Ring (21272) is just a fine set with the focus mainly on the characters including the great hog. The mansion isn’t really anything too spectacular but it’s there as a backdrop. The main play feature here is the fighting ring and may have been better to make it a little larger.
