The March 2015 Brick Builders Club subscription box came in today. As I mentioned last month, this month’s box is a Castle theme so let’s see what we get inside.
The first thing that’s in the box is the guaranteed t-shirt that we get every month. I’m not sure if this was a coincidence or not for St. Patrick’s Day but for this month we have a green shirt featuring a knight going head-to-head with a goblin/orge character in front of a castle.
The next item is the Brick Builders Club Parts Pack. It contains pieces to create a Micro Castle. If you are wondering, the pieces are all legit LEGO parts.
Up next is the LEGO Knights Kingdom Vladek (5998) minifigure polybag which was released back in 2005.
As with every other box, there are the Funky Figs cards. I believe this is the first time we have a sideways card. I also noticed that the cards are a new design style created by a new artist/cartoonist Buz Hasson. The exclusive t-shirt is also designed by him.
There’s also a 4×6 glossy print by Silly Brick Pics captioned with Medieval Paparazzi. It looks like this print is exclusive for Brick Builders Club because I couldn’t find listed on their website. On the back of the print, there’s a Shutterfly label on it. Pricing for that particular size is $0.15/print from Shutterfly.
Finally, there is the Build magazine. Since this month is about Castle, there’s a spread on the history of LEGO Castle. There’s also an interview with Carter Baldwin. You also get the building instructions to create the Micro Castle that are in the Parts Pack.
As I mentioned many times from previous boxes, the Brick Builders Club is mostly aimed towards younger children and may not be everyone’s cup of tea. You can decide for yourself with the images shown above whether the subscription boxes are your kind of thing or not. I do have a coupon code for new sign ups for the 3 month membership by using “BrickFan15” to get $15.00 off. Next month’s theme will be Monster Machines which looks like it’ll be based on construction vehicles and such.
