LEGO April 2021 Sets Now Available on LEGO Shop

It has struck midnight on the east coast and that means there are some new LEGO sets available for purchase on the LEGO Shop. The main set is the NASA Space Shuttle Discovery (10283) which goes for $199.99. The LEGO Ideas Winnie the Pooh (21326) is now available for the general public but it looks like it is still temporarily sold out. If you’re not a VIP member, I highly suggest signing up to be one since it’s free and it gives you some perks.

Some smaller items that are also out include the LEGO Marvel Spider-Man versus Venom and Iron Venom (40454) and the LEGO Peapod Girl Keyring (854080).

LEGO Ulysses Space Probe VIP Reward Delayed

Earlier today, we got our first look at the upcoming LEGO Ulysses Space Probe that’s supposed to be available in the VIP Rewards Center for 1,800 points. It looks like it won’t be happening as it has been delayed for an unspecified amount of time due to “unexpected circumstances.” This news comes out of the LEGO Ambassador Network and it certainly puts a damper on the release of the LEGO NASA Shuttle Discovery (10283). Although you don’t need to purchase the set to get the Ulysses, it does go well with it. We’ll give an update as soon there is more information about the release.

Due to unexpected circumstances, there is a delay in the release of the space probe VIP reward. We do hope that it will be available soon. As soon as more information is available, we will make sure that we let all our fans know!

LEGO Ulysses Space Probe VIP Rewards Center Item Revealed

For those who get the newsletters, LEGO has revealed the exclusive Ulysses Space Probe that will launch aside the LEGO NASA Space Shuttle Discovery (10283). This set isn’t your usual gift-with-purchase set but it will be available in the Rewards Center for 1,800 VIP points. The probe does come with its own display plaque as well.

Based on previous VIP reward items, stuff are usually added a little earlier so I suggest hitting up the Rewards Center a couple of hours ahead. I don’t expect the Ulysses Space Probe to be available for that long as there is a big demand for it based on early reactions.

LEGO Ulysses Space Probe VIP Exclusive Launching Soon

The LEGO NASA Space Shuttle Discovery (10283) was announced a few days ago and if you didn’t read the press release closely, you may have missed some details of a VIP Rewards Center exclusive item that will be available as well. For 1,800 VIP points, LEGO will be offering the Ulysses Space Probe which the Discovery deployed in a 1990 mission to scan the sun. It wasn’t mentioned how many will be available but it did say limited stocks which I don’t expect to be a lot of. The press release didn’t say when the set will launch but I’m assuming it’ll be on April 1 alongside the release of the Discovery.

GO BEYOND WITH THE NEW LEGO® NASA SPACE SHUTTLE DISCOVERY SET

22nd March 2021: Launching today, the incredible new LEGO® NASA Space Shuttle Discovery set brings the wonder of space exploration back home! Ideal for adult builders, the new set is a detailed recreation of the STS-31 mission launched in April 1990 and saw the orbiter Discovery and its five crew members deploy the Hubble Space Telescope into the cosmos. Ever since, Hubble has shared wondrous images of deep space, leading to breakthroughs in astrophysics and space exploration.

The LEGO NASA Space Shuttle Discovery is made up of 2,354 pieces and is amazingly detailed in true reflection of its full-size counterpart, complete with functional landing gear, and payload bay doors that open one after the other. The doors also feature reflective stickers to mimic the cooling radiators found on the real shuttle orbiter.

At the rear of Discovery is housed the three main engines used for launch into orbit. These are flanked on either side of the tail by smaller engines designed for in-orbit maneuvers and for de-orbit and re-entry into the atmosphere at the end of the mission. The flight control surfaces on the back edge of the wings and tail then are used to control roll, pitch and yaw as an airplane
