LEGO Creator Expert Palace Cinema (10232) Preview

LEGO Creator Expert Palace Cinema (10232)

If you follow The Brick Show, you know that they’re at BrickFair Alabama this weekend. Stephen and Jason caught up with Kevin Hinkle to get his thoughts on the LEGO Creator Expert Palace Cinema (10232). According to Kevin, the Cinema took about six hours to build and has some new pieces including a red baseplate in the newest Modular building. Also as I suspected, the movie posters and the screen will be stickers, which is the first time that stickers will be introduced in a Modular building. There are numbered bags to three, one for each level of the building, and three instruction booklets in the box. Again as we noted before, there are 2196 pieces and retails for $149.99.

LEGO Creator Expert Palace Cinema (10232) Images Revealed

LEGO Creator Expert Palace Cinema (10232)

Last week, the next modular building that will be released was revealed to be the LEGO Creator Expert Palace Cinema (10232). Today, there are many new images of the Cinema posted online. We can see there are a whopping 2196 pieces in the set. As you can see, the set is a new corner building that will fit in nicely with your other modular buildings. It will have six minifigures along with a topless convertible. There are two stories in the cinema, the bottom being the concession stand and the upper level being the theater.

First on the outside, there are two ticketing booths as well as stars on the ground to represent the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Above the entrance is a nice looking marquee showing the movie “Three Clicks & A Snap”, showing at 2:00, 5:30, and 8:00. Sitting on the marquee is a brick-built Palace Cinema sign.

In the concession area, there is a popcorn and soda machine. Inside the clear jar could be some sort of pastries. On one side of the wall are some movie posters. There are a flight of stairs that lead up to the upper level.

On the upper level, there are six red seats for the audience. They’ll be watching a black and white movie surrounded by red curtains. To the back, is a film projector and a seat for the operator.

The roof area is built similar to the one at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. It’s made up of a lot of 1×1 red … Continue

LEGO Creator Year of the Snake (10250) Confirmed

LEGO Creator Year of the Snake (10250)

It has been revealed that there will be a new Creator set in 2013, the Year of the Snake (10250). On the Lunar Calendar, 2013 is the snake year for the Chinese zodiac, which starts on February 10. This set is probably exclusive to China but that is not confirmed as of this writing. As a Chinese person, I want to get my hands on one of these sets but may have to pay a pretty premium for it. You can download the instructions for the build here.

LEGO Creator Expert Palace Cinema (10232) Revealed

LEGO Creator Expert Palace Cinema (10232)

News from Eurobricks member GRogall is there will be a new modular building to be released in 2013, the LEGO Creator Expert Palace Cinema (10232). It is a corner building that looks very much like the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood, CA. From the Shop@Home sales image, there are at least six minifigures and comes with a convertible limousine as well. The majority of the cinema is created with light brown and tan pieces and the roof is made from red tiles. The “Palace Cinema” sign will be made from 1×1 blue and white tiles while the lights around the sign will be created from 1×1 yellow round tiles. Also from what we can see, there are three posters but not sure if they’re printed or stickered pieces. There’s no details of the piece count, pricing, or estimated release dates but modular building fans will be excited to add this to their collection. What are your thoughts of the new Palace Cinema?
