LEGO 2013 Castle, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings Images Leaked

Over on ~~Brickshelf~~, there are images leaked of the new 2013 sets including Castle, Star Wars, and Lord of the Rings. The images are marked “Confidential” so I will not be posting them here although I will list the names of the sets by theme as well as the expected release dates. LEGO Legends of Chima Eagles’ Castle (70011) Review

Your Creative Friends are back with another review for the new LEGO Legends of Chima line. Today, they are reviewing the Eagles’ Castle (70011). This is part of the Speedorz sub-theme where vehicles are powered by ripcords. The set contains 369 pieces and retails for $39.99, a $0.11/piece ratio. The box contains two instruction booklets and two packs of cards with five cards per pack. There are three minifigures in the set, Ewald leader of the Eagle tribe, Worriz, and Lennox. The Brick Fan and Your Creative Friends are teaming up to bring you reviews of the brand new LEGO Legends of Chima sets. This is the first of many sets that will be reviewed in the Chima line. The set contains 417 pieces and retails for $39.99, a very nice $0.10/piece. The set contains three minifigures: Laval, Longtooth and Crawley. The box contains two large instruction booklets. New LEGO Legends of Chima Videos

A couple of new LEGO Legends of Chima videos have recently surfaced, both coming from Toys R Us Hong Kong. The first one describes what the theme is about and the second gives a first look at what Speedorz looks like. From what it looks like, you power up your vehicle with ripcords and aim them at boulders to release the CHI balls. There are also cards involved with the game but it’s not shown.

Welcome to the world of Chima, a magical kingdom of animal warrior tribes co-existing in peaceful harmony. Meet Laval the Lion, Eris the Eagle, Worriz the Wolf, and Cragger the Crocodile. Sadly, the long-lasting peace is threatened and conflict is inevitable. LEGO has updated the Legends of Chima minisite with an image of Cragger’s Command Ship (70006) as well as a new preview video of Eris, the adventurous warrior of the Eagle Tribe. We are about two weeks from the release of the new sets. How do you feel about the sets now since we know that Ninjago will be returning in the future?

LEGO Legends of Chima Special Offers

The Brick Blogger has posted some events that LEGO will be having as promotions for the release of the Legends of Chima theme.

Starting January 26, LEGO will be having an in-store tournament involving the Speedorz sets called the LEGO Chima Challenge. Participants will compete against each other to become the CHI Champion. A Chima poster will be given out to participants while supplies last.

The promo that will have people flocking to LEGO Stores and Shop@Home is the FREE Legends of Chima set. The set, which will probably be a polybag, will be an exclusive gift with a $75 purchase and the promotion will be available January 1-31, 2013 while supplies last. It does not state that you have to purchase just Chima sets to get the gift so any item(s) are eligible.

LEGO is definitely pushing the Legends of Chima theme throughout 2013 since Ninjago will be phased out after the final wave. What are your thought of the line and are you excited for these promotions?
