LEGO Children’s Amusement Park (40529) Review

LEGO Children's Amusement Park (40529)

Along with the LEGO Ideas Cosmic Cardboard Adventures (40533) promotion, the LEGO Children’s Amusement Park (40529) is also available until May 30. You can get the 170 piece set for free with purchases of $90.

LEGO Children's Amusement Park (40529)

There are two minifigures with this set, the boy and girl. The boy wears a banana flannel shirt while the girl has on a red striped shirt.

LEGO Children's Amusement Park (40529)

There are a few amusement park attractions that are in the set. One is a duck/frog toss game, both of which are yellow.

The strength test has a very short height as the hammer itself is almost as tall as the game. It uses a functional mechanism that allows the gray piece to go up when you hit the target.

The main part of the build is the banana boat ride. The yellow swing pieces used for the boat are fairly rare as it was only used in Rapunzel’s Tower (43187) from 2020. There are some jungle sticker decorations for the two posts on the side and a banana sticker for the hood piece. There’s also a monkey holding a banana peeking out from the sign but it looks bad from the back.

Overall the LEGO Children’s Amusement Park (40529) is a fun little set and the price to get it is somewhat reasonable. The attractions do integrate with your Fairground Collection very well although they’re quite smaller than the current rides. Again, you can get it now until May 30 with purhases of $90.

LEGO Transformers Optimus Prime (10302) More Details

There is some new information about the upcoming rumored LEGO Transformers Optimus Prime (10302) set coming from Promobricks. The set is said to be released in June with a VIP pre-sale a few days before release. It will have 1,508 pieces and will be based on the G1 version of Optimus Prime and not on the delayed Rise of the Beasts movie.

A neat feature of the set is that you can transform Prime from robot mode to truck mode without removing any pieces. Priced at €169.99, the set will also have a slew of accessories including his Ion Blaster, Energon Axe, the Allspark, and a jetpack. There will also be a UCS style plaque with his Tech Specs. As always, keep your expectations low and don’t get too worked up on it.

LEGO Mythica (40556) Revealed

Last year, LEGOLAND Windsor opened a new attraction called LEGO Mythica which was a fantasy story revolving around mythical creatures. This summer, there will be a LEGO Mythica (40556) set based on the attraction and it was first seen in the LEGO Building Instructions portal. Consisting of 520 pieces, the set features Maximus the Sky Lion and a colorful Unicorn called Bitsandbobs. There’s no word yet on availability and I assume it’ll be a LEGOLAND Windsor exclusive since it’s the only LEGOLAND park that has the attraction.
