LEGO Store Fashion Valley Community Window by monsterbrick

LEGO Store Fashion Valley Community Window - Monsterbrick

The Community Window at the Fashion Valley LEGO Store has been recently changed out and this month it features the work of Matt Armstrong, aka monsterbrick. For this month, Matt has brought in some of his animal-type builds including a cobra, elephant, spider, and mouse. If you have Beautiful LEGO 2: Dark, which we reviewed back in October, you may notice a couple of the builds have been featured in the book.

Beautiful LEGO 2: Dark

The cobra build named Danger Danger! was created in 2009 and consists of about 500 pieces, mostly with claw elements. If you stretch it all out, it is a little more than 5 1/2 feet in length.

The other build that’s been featured in Beautiful LEGO 2: Dark is the spider. It is named No…Lil Miss Muffet Lives Down the Street and it consists of about 100 pieces.

Finally, the last animal is the Mecha-Elephant. What’s cool about this build is that the legs are from the style of the Star Wars AT-AT. The rest of the elephant is just Matt’s style.

I’ve seen images of these builds online before but to see them in person is totally different. Just the sheer size and detail of these builds are truly amazing. If you’re in San Diego, I suggest go checking out the Community Window for yourself. Also if you’re lucky to have a LEGO Store near you, go check out some builds of local … Continue

Riddle of Regicide MOC by BrickWarriors Ryan Hauge

RoR Thieves Guild Overall

Ryan Hauge over at BrickWarriors not only has a business selling their popular LEGO minifigure accessories but he’s also a published author because he’ll be releasing his first novel, Riddle of Regicide (Pentavia Book 1), on Amazon tomorrow. You may not know this but being an author is hard work so hopefully I can help Ryan out by giving him some exposure.

In addition to completing his book, he has also made a MOC of the main character, Draxin, training at the Thieves Guild. You can check out more images of his MOC over on his Flickr.

Draxin Stormgarde awakens in the Thieves Guild with no memory of his past, no memory of his family. After being forced into training with Yortaz the evil jester, Draxin learns that the Thieves Guild is plotting to assassinate the king. And he’s the person they expect to do it.

During a raid gone awry, Draxin escapes and meets Ravelin, a mysterious royal agent tasked with protecting the king. Together, they race against time to stop the Thieves Guild before the king arrives in town for the annual Elk Day Festival.

Throughout his quest to save the king and unearth the demons of his past, Draxin must outwit a menagerie of fearsome beasts and sinister villains to keep from literally losing his head.

Will Draxin solve the riddle of regicide in time to save the king, or will Yortaz and the poisonous Thieves Guild prevail?

LEGO Tim Burton 1989 Batmobile by Orion Pax

Builder extraordinaire Alex Jones (Orion Pax) is back at it again with another Batman related build. Last month, we featured his LEGO version of the 1966 Batmobile which was LED Lites scale. For this new version, which is also the same scale, he has created the 1989 Tim Burton’s Batmobile. This Batmobile was used in both Batman and Batman Returns played by Michael Keaton. The vehicle was also dubbed the Keaton-mobile since the car’s popularity has been attributed to the actor.

Being one of the most recognizable vehicles in movie history, Alex has recreated it with great detail. Don’t let the size full you as it is not regular minifigure scale. The LED Lites figures are much larger in a scale so the Batmobile is sized accordingly. Check out the full gallery here.

Creations for Charity 2014 Sale Begins Today

Creations for Charity store opens today!

The 6th annual Creations for Charity sale starts today. If you haven’t heard about it before, it’s a fundraiser founded by Nannan Zhang and it is for LEGO builders to donate their creations to sell and raise money to purchase LEGO sets for underprivileged children.

Until the November 15th, you can donate your creations and they will be listed for sale until November 30th. Check out Creations for Charity to see the builds that have already been donated and help raise money for this very worthy cause.

Last year, the fundraiser donated over $20,000 worth of LEGO sets to children in six different cities across three countries and they hope to surpass it this year.

Having Some Fun Building a LEGO UCS Invisible Jet

Over on Reddit, user John Wray, aka JimmyLegs50, has created something fun during the holiday weekend with his kids, the LEGO DC Super Heroes UCS Invisible Jet which includes a Wonder Woman minifigure. The set contains 3,200 invisible pieces and even the instructions are invisible. Of course, no such thing exists (yet) but that doesn’t keep him from having some fun with his kids with the help of Photoshop.

There will be an official set next year with an Invisible Jet next year with the Gorilla Grodd Goes Bananas (76026) set but it’s not as cool as what John has done. Cool dad points added. Check out the rest of the photos here.

LEGO One Piece Thousand Sunny by Orion Pax

Earlier this year, we featured a MOC from my of my favorite manga/anime series, the Thousand Sunny from One Piece. Unfortunately, the images that it was hosted on was taken down so we have a replacement.

Alex Jones (Orion Pax) never cease to amaze and he has created his version of the famous Straw Hat Pirates ship. The MOC is very accurate to the show with the custom sail piece and the lion figurehead at the bow. Check out more images of the Thousand Sunny on Alex’s site.
