Watch First Couple Episodes of LEGO Monkie Kid

The LEGO Monkie Kid theme has been available for about a month now and there’s also an animated TV series that will be airing as well. I’m not sure exactly when or where it aired but the first couple of episodes have already been uploaded to YouTube. I’ve just watched it and it’s actually not that bad. The animation studio for LEGO Monkie Kid is Flying Bark Productions which is the same one that did Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles if you watched that show. The first episode jumps right into the action and basically gives you the premise of the story.

The tale begins when an ordinary boy, Monkie Kid, finds Monkey King’s legendary staff and he becomes the chosen one. Together with his brave and loyal friends, Monkie Kid begins his quest to stop the Demon Bull King and his army of Bull Clones from taking over the city.

LEGO Monkie Kid Monkie Kid’s Delivery Bike (30341) Polybag Revealed

The LEGO Monkie Kid sets have been available for a week now and there is a new polybag that has recently surfaced online called Monkie Kid’s Delivery Bike (30341). It was available in Shanghai as a gift-with-purchase when the sets first launched and I’m going to assume it will be available here too in the near future. The July 2020 Store Calendar doesn’t show any promotion for it but that doesn’t mean that LEGO can’t run it unannounced. I wouldn’t be surprised if it gets pushed back as far as August.

LEGO Monkie Kid Behind the Scenes Look

When we got the press kit for the new LEGO Monkie Kid theme, we also got some behind the scenes images of the development process for the line. A number of LEGO designers from other themes came in and helped create the eight sets in the initial wave. These designers headed by Simon Lucas (The LEGO Ninjago Movie), include Justin Ramsden, Chris Perron, Nick Vas, and more. As mentioned before, the sets have been in development for over two years with close collaboration with parents and children in China and it is the first LEGO theme to be inspired by one culture.
