LEGO Comic Creator Returns for SDCC at Home 2021

With Comic Con at Home 2021 coming to a close soon and if you haven’t done it yet, LEGO still has their LEGO Comic Creator available for the first 10,000 participants. It is the same as last year where you can create your own LEGO minifigure and choose a universe between Star Wars, Spider-Man, or Batman to build a story around. This is the same as last year’s activity when Comic Con was shut down as well. There is a limit of three comics per house hold so you can pretty much get all three stories unless you have more than one child.

LEGO Star Wars UCS Republic Gunship (75309) Officially Announced

LEGO has finally officially announced the long-awaited LEGO Star Wars UCS Republic Gunship (75309) which will be available starting on August 1. The 3,292 piece set retails for $349.99 and it was voted for by fans and had over 30,000 votes which made up of 58% of all votes cast. It will include minifigures of Mace Windu and a Clone Trooper Commander along with a display stand along with a information plaque. One thing to note is that LEGO used the Imperial logo instead of the Republic logo in the first batch of sets which is incorrect. LEGO is fixing the issue and it will be corrected in the December/January releases. If you purchase the set in the first wave, you may get an error set.

15th July 2021: Today, the LEGO Group announced the new LEGO Star Wars Republic Gunship construction set joins the LEGO Ultimate Collector’s (UCS) line-up. Fans have shared their passion, ideas and creative takes on the beloved saga with the LEGO Group for more than 20 years. So, the LEGO Group invited fans to vote on the top three requested sets via the LEGO Ideas website, and the Republic Gunship rose supreme with over 30,000 votes, accounting for 58% of all votes cast.

LEGO Star Wars UCS Republic Gunship (75309) Reveal Tomorrow

The day has finally come where LEGO will be officially announcing the LEGO Star Wars UCS Republic Gunship (75309) and that day will be tomorrow. LEGO has sent out an email to the fans who voted for it last January and there’s even a teaser for it. There will be a live announcement at 9am EST/6am PST from the LEGO Star Wars design team consisting of Jens Kronvold Frederiksen and Hans Burkhard Schlömer and the show will be hosted by David Hall of Solid Brix Studios.

What is Going on with LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga?

One of the main questions I’ve been getting recently is what is going on with TT Games and LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga and if it will ever be released. Honestly, I have no idea what is happening with the company. The game has been delayed a few times now due to COVID with no major updates about the game even during E3 last month which was very surprising.

Last week, there was a Xbox Two podcast that suggested that Warner Bros. was looking to sell NetherRealm Studios and TT Games according to some documents seen by Windows Central’s Jez Corden. However that was all disputed as TheGamer got a response from Remi Sklar of Warner Bros. saying that NetherRealm and TT Games will remain a part of Warner Bros. Games and are included in the Warner Media Discovery merger so that debunked that report.

In addition, there have been a lot of TT Games employees that have been leaving the company in the past year, some of whom have been working on The Skywalker Saga. As we know in our regular jobs, replacing people is sometimes difficult and new employees need time to get acclimated to what they are working on.

Although I’m still excited for the game personally, other people may be losing their interest for it. At this point, I wouldn’t be totally surprised if the game was delayed until next year. Note that there are double points on the LEGO Shop so you can earn 2,080 points on it plus you can get some good promo items on it including the adidas Originals Superstar (40486) and Charles Dickens Tribute (40410).

The official images of the LEGO Star Wars 2021 Advent Calendar (75307) are now available on the LEGO Shop in various countries. The set has 335 pieces and costs $39.99 and it is mostly based on season two of The Mandalorian. The set includes minifigures of Scout Trooper, Stormtrooper, Tusken Raider, IG-11 and IT-O Interrogator Droid. There are spoilers of all the builds the below so if you don’t want to see them, you should skip this post.
