LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Justice League: Attack of the Legion of Doom Announced

LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes Justice League: Attack of the Legion of Doom

Today Warner Bros Home Entertainment announced the latest LEGO DC Comic Super Heroes feature film, Justice League: Attack of the Legion of Doom!
. The Blu-Ray + DVD + Digital HD Combo pack will be available on August 25.

Mark Hamill will be doing some voices in the movie including Trickster and Sinestro while Troy Baker will again be voicing Batman.

As we know by now, these LEGO animated movies often will come with an exclusive minifigure and I’m 99.9% sure that the Trickser minifigure we saw last year will be included in the combo pack. Check out the full synopsis below as well as the trailer for Justice League: Attack of the Legion of Doom.

Update: The LEGO Trickster exclusive minifigure has been confirmed to be included with the movie.

“Crime is on the run as the newly formed Justice League keeps Metropolis safe and this makes evil genius Lex Luthor very unhappy. Together with Black Manta, Sinestro and a gang of ruthless recruits, Lex builds his own league and declares them the Legion of Doom. With this super powered team of terror and a plan to attack the top-secret government site, Area 52, can Lex finally be on the verge of victory? Sound the alarm and get ready for the bricks to fly when Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and the rest of the Justice League face off against the world’s greatest Super-Villains! It’s the next all-new original movie from LEGO® and DC Comics.”

Updates to the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Ant-Man Final Battle (76039)

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Ant-Man Final Battle (76039)

Yesterday, there was a report that come out of some issues with the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Ant-Man Final Battle (76039) which was first reported by Brick Fanatics. There is now some clarification on what that issue was about. A couple of our readers who have purchased the set early contacted LEGO customer service and this was one of the responses:

LEGO felt the set was not up to standards in terms of the legs so they are adding 12 pieces total to the set, 2 for each leg. So Stephen at the Brick Show was correct.

They have pulled the sets back. They will be issuing new boxes with updated piece counts, the additional pieces and new instructions.

They are mailing me the additional pieces + 1 new page of instructions.

Another reader notes:

According to the representative, the issue with the set was an error in the instruction manual. The original design did not call for a cross-axle where the legs meet the torso, and the instructions reflected this preliminary design step. They delayed the set so they can fix the instructions page to reflect the final design of the build. There is absolutely nothing wrong with any of the pieces, or the quality control of the printing in the set, it is simply a problem with the instruction manual.

He also said that it’s more than likely that any sets that are popping up in stores are the ones that have already been fixed.

So it seems now there are conflicts with … Continue

Reports of Quality Control Issues with LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Ant-Man Final Battle (76039)

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Ant-Man Final Battle (76039)

There’s something interesting that came by this morning by our chums at Brick Fanatics regarding the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Ant-Man Final Battle (76039). To summarize, a reader emailed in saying that LEGO has found an issue with the set and as a result, “all orders being held until this is rectified. Currently we envisage all deliveries happening mid June.” There was no mention of what that issue was.

Some of us in the States have already found the Ant-Man Final Battle available for purchase at various Toys R Us stores. One of our readers has purchased the set and noted that “the connector piece for the thorax is really too weak to support the bulk of the build.” They also note that his LEGO Store employee said that it “wasn’t up to quality control standards.” I even reached out to the Brick Show since Stephen did a review on it and he noted that the legs would sometimes fall over if not positioned correctly. I’m not sure if those particular things are what LEGO is referring to but it seems that it’s a wide spread problem if the company has stopped orders because of it.

What does this mean for collectors who already bought one of these early sets before the official release date of June 1st? They could be similar to what people who collect sports cards call error cards which have an unintended flaw to them and may become more valuable in the future. If you did purchase one of these early sets, … Continue

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Electro (5002125) Review

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Electro (5002125)

I’m back with a review of a newly released item that’s been elusive since last year. The LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Electro Minifigure Polybag (5002125) was first seen back in October at LEGO Kidsfest Virginia but it has recently been more widely available at Toys R Us stores as part of a promotion last week as well as being individually purchased for some for $3.99.

We’ve already had an Electro minifigure with the Spider Trike vs Electro (76014)icon but this version of him is based on The Amazing Spider-Man 2 movie from last year which is loosely based off the Ultimate Marvel incarnation.

The whole Electro minifigure alone is exclusive to this polybag. The only thing that’s not exclusive is the lightning pieces that we’ve seen included with other sets. The torso and legs which is of a dark gray and black color scheme very closely resemble the suit from the movie. The head and hands are a light blue color and the face itself has an angry expression.

If you can find LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Electro (5002125), it’s worth picking up since this is the only way to get this particular minifigure. There has still been some Toys R Us stores that still don’t have it yet even though there was in-store only promotion for it in the US last week. You can also have them check the item number 238428 to see if they have any laying around in the warehouse or at nearby stores.

Upcoming Toys R Us LEGO Polybag Promotions

LEGO Star Wars TIE Advanced Prototype (30275)

We’ve reported on many LEGO polybags that have shown up on the Toys R Us website but haven’t seen it actually in stores but FBTB seems to have the inside scoop on a couple of them for some upcoming promotions. First up is the LEGO Star Wars TIE Advanced Prototype (30275) which will be part of a promo starting on May 24.

The other polybag that’s been very sought for is the LEGO DC Comics Super Heroes The Joker Bumper Car (30303). That one won’t be “available” until the week of August 9. What’s interesting about this one is that I’ve already seen a couple of people in the US who have been able to purchase this polybag from their local store as early as last week and I’m not sure why the promo listed is so far out. I’ve also reported that the Joker Bumper car could be available at Target as well but there hasn’t been any sightings of it over there yet. Of course for people in the UK, it will be be available this Sunday as part of their Daily Mail promo.

As soon as the promotions are over, TRU will most likely sell them for $3.99 each or if you’re lucky with the cashiers, they’ll probably just sell you one individually.
