LEGO DC 1989 Batwing (76161) Designer Video

The LEGO DC 1989 Batwing (76161) is now available for purchase for VIP members and LEGO has also released the designer video for the set. Designer Adam Grabowski talks about the details of the set and one neat fact is that the set uses every wing piece currently used in production. He also demonstrates the hanging feature that is included in the Batwing. Another neat fact is that the Batwing was already being designed when the 1989 Batmobile (76139) designer video was released last year. Check out my review of the set here.

LEGO DC 1989 Batwing (76161) Now Available for VIPs on LEGO Shop

The LEGO DC 1989 Batwing (76161) is now available for purchase for VIP members on the LEGO Shop. The set has 2,363 pieces and it retails for $199.99. This is the second Tim Burton vehicle made into a set with the first one being the 1989 Batmobile (76139) from last year. One nice thing that you can do with the Batwing is that it can be wall mounted as a display piece. Check out my review of the set here.

In addition, you’ll also get the LEGO MINDSTORMS Mini Robots (40413) and the VIP Gift Set (5006008) with your purchase.

LEGO DC FanDome Supergirl Minifigure Review

LEGO DC FanDome Supergirl

If you remember way back in August, DC FanDome was held online and they partnered with LEGO to give away a LEGO Supergirl minifigure. For a few months there was radio silence from both companies and I even questioned if the sweepstakes was even held since the official rules stated that winners would be drawn within 5 business days after the contest ended.

How to Check if You’ve Won the LEGO DC Fandome Supergirl Minifigure

A few days ago, I mentioned that the LEGO DC Fandome Supergirl was shipping out to winners and we finally have some details to see if you’ve actually won. I’ve been told that the minifigures are shipping out of Las Vegas, Nevada. One easy way to check to see if you have a package coming is to use USPS Informed Delivery. This service is free and it’ll let you see mail and packages that are coming in the mail and their expected delivery dates. For Supergirl, you’ll get a package from a place called SHIPPO which is a shipping software that DC used to mail out the minifigure. I don’t want to get anyone’s hopes up but I’ve been told by a few people that this is a way to check if you’ve won.

LEGO Marvel Classic Suit Miles Morales SDCC 2020 PlayStation Sweepstakes

It looks like we finally know of the exclusive LEGO Marvel Super Heroes minifigure for San Diego Comic Con 2020 and it is the Classic Suit Miles Morales. LEGO and PlayStation is doing a contest to give away 1,650 minifigures by playing Marvel’s Spider-Man on the PS4. For a chance to win, you’ll have to beat the game and earn the “End Game” trophy and then connect your PlayStation account on the giveaway page and you’ll be entered to win. The LEGO Miles Morales Spider-Man is a lot harder to win than this year’s Supergirl but it is an exclusive with an updated printing on the torso and legs.

LEGO DC Fandome Supergirl Shipping Out to Winners

It’s been almost three months but the mystery of the LEGO DC Fandome Supergirl minifigure is now over. After no details of what was going on with the sweepstakes after Fandome, the minifigure is now showing up in the mail for the winners. I’ve gotten a few messages from people who were lucky enough to win one. They didn’t mention if they got any notifications saying they had won but I assume they didn’t and it just showed up in the mail. Let me know if you were one of the lucky ones to get one.

LEGO DC 1989 Batwing (76161) Review

The LEGO DC 1989 Batwing (76161) releases on November 1 but if you’re a VIP member, you can get it a few weeks early on October 21. LEGO sent us a review copy and I spent a few days having fun building it. The Batwing has 2,363 pieces and retails for $199.99 and that makes it about $0.08/piece which includes some larger pieces. The contents of the box include bags numbered to 13 as well as the instruction booklet packaged with a medium count sticker sheet.
