There’s only a few days left for the LEGO Alien Space Diner (40687) promotion and here’s a quick review of the set. It is available until May 26 with purchases of $100 on the LEGO Shop.
Minifigures
There are two astronaut minifigures, a white one and an orange one. The white torso with the Classic Space logo has been used in other sets but it is still rather new, however, the orange torso looks to be a new one. They do not have any air tanks which was one of the complaints I’ve seen about the minifigures.
Build
A majority of the build is the diner itself. It has a retro feel to it with the tile floors and the jukebox in the back. To the left of the jukebox is the red booth with a portion of the “wall”. At the top, there’s a small rocket flying above some stars. Next to the booth is a window and there’s a sticker of a moon that the minifigures can look at.
The right side of the diner has a kitchen that takes up most of the space. There’s a stove in the front and to the side a blender. Next to that is a shelf with stuff on it and there’s a UFO at the top.
Right in the front of the diner is the alien cook who sits on a turntable. It is the same style of green alien as in the Alien Pack (40715) and Alien Planet Habitat (40716). It has three tentacles which is able to hold a serving platter, a microphone, and a whisk.
Lastly, there’s a black diner sign that is stickered.
Results
The LEGO Alien Space Diner (40687) is a decent little gift with purchase set and the main draw here are the two minifigures themselves. The overall build itself doesn’t look too bad and I do like the retro style that it has. The price point to get it isn’t bad at all at $100 which was lower than I expected it to be. The set is still available on the LEGO Shop until May 26, while supplies last.
Thank you to LEGO for sending in this set for me to review. The content above represents my own opinion and not the company. Review sets sent in does not guarantee a positive review.
