BZPower has reported at New York Comic Con 2014, LEGO will be having a panel and they’ve asked people to “take part in a very special event where a brand new LEGO Theme will be announced.” A brand new LEGO theme? There are a few possible ideas what they could be with all the recent LEGO 2015 news. The first possibility is the new LEGO Jurassic World sets that will be based on the upcoming movie starring Chris Pratt. According to reports, there would be five sets in the wave.
The next possible theme that LEGO could be revealing at NYCC is the “Elves” theme which was reported to be a fantasy-typed theme that would include mini-dolls.
The third LEGO theme that could be revealed is LEGO Top Gear. Last year the people at Top Gear asked people to do a survey to guage the audience if they wanted to see vehicles from the popular TV show in LEGO form. It was recently revealed that a list of Supercars would be coming out next year and it may indeed be the Top Gear theme.
Finally, we have a return of an old theme but could be new to people that have just gotten into LEGO and that is BIONICLE. The theme hasn’t been around since 2010 but it was very popular among kids and AFOLs when it was.
So there you have it. LEGO will be announcing a new theme at New York Comic Con 2014 and those were some of the possibilities. What do you guys think the new LEGO theme is? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
If that wasn’t enough, there’s more news. BZPower has twelve (12) Thursday NYCC passes for members of the discussion forum. If you want to attend the convention on Thursday, October 9, sign up to BZPower and follow the instructions. Entries must be received by Sunday, September 7th at 11:59 PM EST so get entering for a chance to win tickets.
Update: Another theme that I thought of was the LEGO Minecraft minifigure scale sets. Although the theme isn’t really new, the larger sets are so maybe that could be it. One speculation is that the box art for the sets were revealed on a toy shop website yesterday but were then quickly removed so maybe LEGO has been holding off on revealing them until at the convention. I have seen the images but am holding off posting them until further notice.
