The LEGO BrickHeadz theme seems to be pretty popular among the community and one of the new sets that was revealed during the 2017 New York Toy Fair was Captain Jack Sparrow (41593) from the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales movie. The set has 109 pieces and is priced at $9.99 with a March 17 release for LEGO VIP members and April 1 for the general public. The contents of the box include two unnumbered bags, a loose 4×6 plate, and the instructions.
Build
If you haven’t build any of the LEGO BrickHeadz sets yet, they are created mainly with the use of the 1x2x1 2/3 W/4 Knobs to give the outer details. For the body, there are a few printed pieces that are used including a 1×2 brick for shirt, a 1×3 brick for the belt, and a 1×2 tile for a piece of fabric that hangs off the belt.
For the front part of the head, you have some dark red 2×2 curved slope pieces for Jack’s bandana. Below that are some printed 1×1 round tiles for the eyes and a 1×4 tile for the moustache. There’s also a black angular plate that is for the bottom part of his beard.
On either side of Jack, the look is very simple using more dark red pieces for the bandana that wraps around the head and black pieces for his long hair. There are some 1×2 plates with clip that represent his hands which can hold a sword. On the left side, there is a gray 1×1 round tile which I assume is his piece of eight. On the right side, there are some tan pieces which represent the bone trinket.
The back side of the figure again is pretty plain. There are a couple of dark red 1×1 tiles for the rest of the bandana and 2×4 and 2×6 black plates used for the back part his hair.
As with all the LEGO BrickHeadz sets, there is a stand that is included with a printed 2×4 tile designating that the figure is part of the first wave.
Results
Overall, the LEGO BrickHeadz Captain Jack Sparrow (41593) is a pretty simple figure but he does have lots of little details throughout. I do like that the BrickHeadz have printed elements instead of having to build whatever they are representing.
Even though the BrickHeadz sets offer little to no playability, they do make great collectibles and are perfect for an office desk or on shelves.
