LEGO has been doing the smaller mech sets for a little bit now and the latest addition is the Batman Mech Armor (76270). The set has 140 pieces and retails for $14.99. As of this post, North America will release the set in August while certain countries have already released it.
Minifigure
The only minifigure in the set is Batman himself. This version of Batman isn’t new and has been used many times in the past with the classic black suit and the yellow emblem and utility belt. A fabric cape completes his look. He does use the newer style cowl that has the white eyes molded on instead of the headband eyes. His double-sided head shows him with a stern look on one side and an angry look on the other. He has a Batarang as an accessory.
Build
The only build for the set is the armor mech. Like with all the other mech sets, the build starts with the torso area which is basically the seat for the minifigure. The front has a fold down armor piece that has a printed Batman logo. The back of the torso has some wings as well as as jetpack for looks.
The left arm has a spot for the mech to hold a larger Batarang while the right arm has a stud shooter and a clip to hold the smaller Batarang.
The legs are rather plain and have minimal details except for the ankle joints and the red dishes on the bottom of the foot.
Results
Overall the LEGO Batman Mech Armor (76270) is a fairly underwhelming set but when it releases, it will be the cheapest way to get a Batman minifigure with the current sets available. The mech doesn’t look bad at all and it could be fun for younger fans. There is limited movement for the joints but enough to get some good poses out of it.
Thank you to LEGO for sending in this set for me to review. The content above represents my own opinion and not the company. Review sets sent in does not guarantee a positive review.
