Superman returns to LEGO in 2025 and he’ll be in the Superman Mech vs. Lex Luthor (76302). The set has 120 pieces and retails for $14.99.
Minifigures
The set only features minifigures of Superman and Lex Luthor. Supes has the classic red and blue suit with a new yellow belt. He has the usual double-sided head with the smirk on one side and the red eyes on the other. This version of Superman uses a the newer fabric cape.
Lex Luthor has on one of his green and purple warsuits. I will say that the green on it really pops and the purple accents don’t look bad either. The look is complete with the trans-green shoulder armor piece. He has a stud shooter and a trans-green crystal representing a piece of Kryptonite.
Build
For the build, there is only one build which is Superman’s Mech. The mech uses a similar formula as with other super hero mechs that LEGO has previously released. It has the same color scheme as Superman, even down to the yellow belt.
The torso opens up for Superman to sit inside, hence the use of the fabric cape so it doesn’t get crinkled outside. There is a swivel at the hips which allows the torso to spin a full 360 degrees. The back of the torso has a couple of adjustable thrusters for the mech to fly.
The arms only have movement at the shoulders using ball joints. The fingers have a little bit of articulation but it can’t really grab anything. The legs have ball joints on the hips and at the ankles so you can get the mech in some action poses.
Results
If you’ve collected these smaller mech sets, then you’ve probably seen them all and it goes the same for the LEGO DC Superman Mech vs. Lex Luthor (76302). The mech itself looks good but you get the same DNA as from the other mechs but customized to the main hero character. I feel the main draws of the set are the minifigures themselves as we haven’t seen a classic style Superman and warsuit Lex Luthor since 2018.
