In just a few days, LEGO will be starting a new Valentine’s promotion with the Love Gift Box (40679). The set has 159 pieces and it will be available from February 1-14 with purchases of $75/€75/$120 AUD.
Build
The set features two builds, the gift box and the Shiba Inu dog. The gift box is 8×8 wide and the magenta colors are used for the ribbons around the box. The sides in the front has a heart shaped chocolate box on one side and a flower on the other. The middle of the box fits the Shiba Inu inside and behind it has a heart flag with two different sticker messages.
The Shiba Inu has a light brown and white color scheme and it has a cute sitting position. Around the neck, there’s a green and red collar. LEGO has provided two sets of eyes, one for the regular look and one with some lashes to show that it’s sleeping. The ears on the back are on some ball joints so you can kind of angle them a little if you desire.
Results
Overall, the LEGO Love Gift Box (40679) is a cute little set for Valentine’s Day. The box is just a simple box but I think the Shiba Inu takes the show here. The $75 threshold to get it seems a bit high but that’s been the trend for all gift with purchase sets in recent times. I think a $65 price point would’ve been better for what you get.
