Surprisingly, there wasn’t any LEGO sets for Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania except for one which is the Ant-Man Construction Figure (76256). It has 289 pieces and retails for $29.99.
Build
There aren’t any minifigures for the set but there is a microfigure of the Wasp. Although very small, there is some nice metallic printing on the torso.
Like with every other Construction Figure, the build starts off at the torso and the limbs build off that. The middle of the chest has a printed round tile for the device on the new suit.
The arms and wrists are on ball joints and the shoulder armor pieces seem to hinder any articulation here. There are only four fingers on each hand and they look like claws more than fingers. On the forearms, there’s a jumper piece that allows you to attach the Wasp to using the clear handle piece.
The whole upper torso can also swivel which is a nice addition and gives the figure more positions to pose it.
The legs have click joints at the thighs while the knees and ankles have ball joints. The movement here is somewhat limited as the panels near the upper thighs can hinder movement or even pop off.
The helmet uses a printed piece and is designed nicely but it doesn’t open up to reveal a face underneath. Connected on a ball joint, there’s a decent amount of movement here.
Results
I was actually surprised that there was no regular sets for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania but the LEGO Marvel Ant-Man Construction Figure (76256) is an okay substitute. One thing that you can do is that the figure can double up as Giant-Man if you compare the size to a minifigure. Ant-Man is rather skinny especially around the torso area. The poseability is okay but the legs are somewhat limited mainly at the thighs since the panel like to pop off when you get him too low. Overall, it’s a good figure but a little pricey for what you get.
Thank you to LEGO for sending in this set for me to review. The content above represents my own opinion and not the company. Review sets sent in does not guarantee a positive review.
