The Marvel logo is one of the most recognizable things in print and films and LEGO will be releasing a brick-built version of the Marvel Logo (76313) in January. The set has 931 pieces and retails for $99.99.
Minifigures
Included in the set are five of the main Avengers: Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, and Hulk. The only noticeable omission is Hawkeye.
Iron Man has an update Mark VI armor which has some nice shading on the front and back of the torso. The legs have been used before and it has some pearl-gold and silver printing. The double-sided head is the usual one with the smile on one side and the HUD on the other.
Captain America has on the SSR uniform from The First Avenger. The torso has the star covered up partially with the strap going across the chest. There’s also a utility belt around the waist as well. His double-sided shows him with a smile on one side and a chinstrap on the other. He has the usual shield as an accessory.
Thor is wearing his suit from the Avengers movie with the prominent circular discs with some lightning going through them. His double-sided head shows him with a smile one one side and an angry, lightning-filled expression on the other. His accessory is Mjolnir.
Black Widow has on the mostly black suit which I believe is reused from the Avengers Tower and The Leviathan (76290). Her double-sided head shows her with a content look on one side and an angry look on the other. Her accessory is the blaster.
Finally we have small Hulk which is somewhat odd but given the play feature of the set, it was the most logical choice. This is only the second olive green Hulk minifigure that LEGO has released. There’s not much to him but there is some chest hair printing. His double-sided head show him with a smile on one side and an angry expression on the other.
Build
You may think that the Marvel logo is just a big block with some lettering in the front but the inside has a very intricate gear system.
There are four different arms that extend out when you press the top tiles, one at the top and one at the side. These arms will emerge from the plate on the top and the wall on the side. The opposite side is mirrored to do the exact same thing.
There is also a fifth center arm that just flips up from behind. This one has no automatic flip so you have to do it manually.
All the five members of the Avengers can clip on to the arms and be stored inside the box even with their accessories.
The brick-built letters spelling out Marvel is quite nice. They do protrude out a little giving a 3D effect to them. I also like how the R is designed and has a more rounded look to it.
Results
The LEGO Marvel Logo (76313) is a mixed bag for me. I do like how it looks and the display possibilities but the price is what holds it back. There’s pretty much no play features and at $100, you can get other things coming out at the same time that is way more worth the money (Blacktron Renegade). The minifigures are okay if you’re wanted some updated looks but the omission of Hawkeye stands out.
Thank you to LEGO for sending in this set for me to review. The content above represents my own opinion and not the company. Review sets sent in does not guarantee a positive review.
