This year we finally get a LEGO Marvel Spider-Verse set with Miles Morales vs. The Spot (76311). The set has 375 pieces and retails for $49.99.
Minifigures
The stars of the set are the four minifigures of Miles Morales, Gwen Stacy, Officer Jefferson, and The Spot. Miles Morales has on an updated outfit from Across the Spider-Verse. The torso is still mostly black with some blue for texturing. He has a double-sided head with a smile on one side and a confused look on the other. He also comes with a masked head that you can switch out. For his accessories, he can either use the web string or a new rubber web that can close up to catch bad guys.
Gwen Stacy also has a slightly updated outfit from the movie although it looks similar to the one that was previously released. She does have a double-sided head which shows her with a smirk on one side and an angry expression on the other. The hair piece used doesn’t look close to her hair from the movie. She does also have a separate head piece with her mask and hood on. Like Miles, she can hold both the web string and rubber web piece.
The Spot is very bland but that’s what he looks like so it’s fine. There’s black spots of various sizing on the front and back of the torso and legs and the head has one large one in the middle of the face.
Officer Jefferson has on a typical police outfit with the black vest. You have his badge, radio, and belt on both sides of the torso.
Build
The first part of the build is the PDNY police car that is six wide. It has a mostly white color scheme with some light blue trim on the sides. The PDNY signs on the sides are stickers which we’ll have a lot more for the convenience store. The roof can be taken off and the inside fits two minifigures.
The main part of the build is the convenience store. It is a corner store and as I mentioned before, there are a lot of stickers for the awning signs that goes around to the side. In addition, it’s also has a deli shop as shown on the sign above the door.
Before we head inside the store, there’s an outdoor ice merchandiser that has some Spider-Man graffiti on the door. There’s a play feature here where you can push the bottom lever to knock over the ATM on the other side of the wall.
Right above the ice freezer, there’s an AC unit above and there’s a spot for the rubber web piece to hang on to.
Although the store is fairly small, the inside makes good use of the space it has. When you walk in, you’re greeted with the cash register and next to it is the aforementioned ATM.
On the walls, there are some large 4×4 circle plates that represent Spot’s portals. The middle of them has a translucent stud for Spot to hang off of.
Results
The LEGO Marvel Miles Morales vs. The Spot (76311) is an okay set and the main draws are the minifigures. Both the police car and the convenience store have their play features but they don’t amount to the $50 price tag. Most of the cost is associated with the four minifigures and unless LEGO makes more Spider-Verse sets, they are exclusive to this one.
Thank you to LEGO for sending in this set for me to review. The content above represents my own opinion and not the company. Review sets sent in does not guarantee a positive review.
