In our last review of the new LEGO Marvel Spidey and His Amazing Friends sets, we check out the Team Spidey Web Spinner Headquarters (10794). The set has 193 pieces and retails for $54.99.
Minifigures
The set includes five minifigures, Miles “Spin” Morales, Spidey, Ghost-Spider, Iron Man, and Zola. Miles Morales is the same minifigure that we’ve seen from this wave from the Drill Spinner Vehicle (10792). He has the black and red outfit with the metallic gold accents on both sides of the torso and on the eyes.
Spidey is also a repeat minifigure from the Spidey vs. Green Goblin (10793) set. He has the red and blue outfit also with the metallic-gold on both sides of the torso as well as on the eyes.
Ghost-Spider is technically not a new character but it is a new variant because she does not have the Man-Bat wings on the arms anymore and has the regular ones. The design is still the same with the white and purple outfit with the metalliic gold. She has some white drumsticks as accessories and they could double up as batons.
Iron Man has on the red and yellow suit which sort of looks like the original comic art. Surprisingly, it has lots of details on both sides of the torso as well as on the legs. Underneath the helmet, there’s a single-sided head of Tony Stark’s face. His accessory is a wrench.
Lastly, we have Arnim Zola who is in a yellowish-orange colored suit. The body and legs are the regular minifigure form while there’s a shell going over the torso. Both sides of the shell are printed with the front showing Zola’s face while the back has some purple armor printing. He has a little Hydra-bot as an accessory which rolls on two wheels but you can hold it up using its ray gun.
Build
There whole build consists of the headquarters as well as various smaller builds. The headquarters is similar to the previous headquarter type sets from previous waves and they could look like they go together. The bottom floor is covered with glass panels and the inside has a couch, table, and a printed TV screen.
The floor above it has a couple of tables and a chair. There’s a glass panel that is flanked by a couple of towers that hold up the printed Spidey shell.
Attached to the sides of the main headquarters build are some smaller platforms, one of which is dedicated to be a painting area. The other side is a drum set that Ghost-Spider plays on.
Ghost-Spider has a glide spinner with independent propellers. The back of it has a magenta colored web.
Lastly we have Zola’s mech that is similar color as him. The torso is on a 4×4 round block that can freely spin around. The arms are connected on a ball joint but the elbows and hands don’t move. The legs are on click joints so that allows the mech to be sturdy.
Results
Unlike the other two sets in the current wave, the LEGO Marvel Team Spidey Web Spinner Headquarters (10794) is overpriced for what you get, even though it may seem that you’re getting a lot of playability. There are quite a few larger parts used in the set to help kids build and that may have contributed to the higher price point. The minifigure selection is okay but do you get a few repeats from other sets.
Thank you to LEGO for sending in this set for me to review. The content above represents my own opinion and not the company. Review sets sent in does not guarantee a positive review.
