The next LEGO Ninjago 2023 set that we’ll be taking a look at is Kai’s Mech Rider EVO (71783). It has 312 pieces and retails for $44.99.
Minifigures
There are four minifigures in the set, Kai and Nya in their Core looks, Bone King, and Bone Warrior. Kai has on a red robe with some flames on one side of the body. His double-sided head shows him with a nervous look on one side and an anf=gry expression on the other. His accessory is a golden sword.
Nya is the same minifigure from the Water Dragon (71800). The torso shows her with some water bubbles on one side of the torso. Like before, she has a shoulder armor with sheath for the sword. Her double-sided head shows her with a happy expression on one side and an angry one on the other. Her accessory is also a golden sword.
The Bone King has on a red and black outfit with chains wrapped around him. The helmet has a crossbone piece that attaches in the front. His weapon is a bone sword.
The Bone Warrior has even more chain printing on the torso with some armor on the legs. It has a lower jaw piece to make it look more menacing. It has a bone axe and sword as accessories.
Build
The build consists of Kai’s mech and the motorbike. The mech is a small one, similar to some of the smaller mechs in this wave like Lloyd’s Mech Battle EVO (71781). The arms and legs have decent movement as they use ball joints. The shoulder armor has some detailing by the way of stickers but only on the top part. The chestpiece opens up for Kai to stand inside comfortably. The back of the mech has a spot for the Focus banner to attach on.
The bike is very sleek and is the perfect size for the mech. Once the evolution is complete, there are some large swords near the front wheels and some flaming tailpipes on the sides. The mech is secured to the bike using some hinges on the seat. It can now hold on to the very large golden blade in either hand.
Results
The LEGO Ninjago Kai’s Mech Rider EVO (71783) so far is one of my favorite 2023 sets. The mech is the typical smaller ones but the bike is what makes the set cooler. Even without the evolution swords and flames, it’ll still look pretty good. The only downside is that none of the minifigures are unique.
Thank you to LEGO for sending in this set for me to review. The content above represents my own opinion and not the company. Review sets sent in does not guarantee a positive review.
