Coming very soon, LEGO will be releasing a new LEGO Spring Festival gift with purchase set with the Lucky Knots (40756). The set has 317 pieces and should be available from January 1-7, while supplies last. The US pricing requirements is still unknown at the time of this writing.
The build features the red knot decorations that you’ll usually find in homes and restaurants and they symbolizes good fortune and health. One of the knots says 春 which translates to spring while the other says 福 which means fortune.
Both builds are exactly the same minus a color difference one particular piece at the beginning of the builds. They are separated into two bags so two people can build them at the same time.
The builds consist of layering parts to get the design. There are 30 of the bright red life preservers in this set and they are still pretty rare as it only appears in the Temple of the Dragon Energy Cores (71795) from last year. The words in the middle are surrounded by dark red 1x1x2/3 plates which give a color contrast to all the bright red. On the sides and the at the bottom are some tassels.
Also hidden underneath the stickered tile are printed 2×2 round tiles of old Chinese coins.
One nice feature of the set is that there’s a hoop at the top so you can hang the red knots on the wall if you like.
Overall, the LEGO Lucky Knots (40756) is a pretty good gift with purchase set that highlights Chinese culture and especially with Chinese/Lunar New Year coming up at the end of January, it’s a perfect time to hang them up for good luck. Again, we don’t know the price requirement to get it at this time but I’ll update as soon as there’s info.
