In our second LEGO Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, we are reviewing the Stealth Shell in Pursuit (79102). The set contains 162 pieces and retails for $19.99, which is about $0.12/piece. The box contains one small instruction booklet and two numbered bags.
Minifigures
In the Stealth Shell in Pursuit, we get three minifigures: Raphael, Fishface, and a Foot Soldier. Raphael like all the other turtles have a new molded head and has a red bandana. He has a bit of a frown for his facial expression. There is double sided printing on the torso and only front printing on the legs. He also has the new removable shell. For his weapons, Raphael has his trusty sais.
Fishface is a new character that appears in the TV series and is one of Shredder’s henchmen. The majority of Fishface is made of the body mold that is mostly pink. He has the same arms as Gollum from the LOTR and Hobbit lines but painted pink. He also has robotic legs to walk on. Fishface has no accessories and is exclusive to this set.
The Foot Soldier is similar to the ones in other TMNT sets but this one has two gold shurikens as his weapons.
Build
There are two parts to the build, the sewer skimmer and Raphael’s Stealth Shell. The skimmer is a nicely shaped boat driven by Fishface. There are a couple of features with the skimmer including dual flick-fire missiles and a catapult for the ooze drums in the back. The ooze drum covers are stickered.
My favorite part of the set is the Stealth Shell. It has similar look to a dune buggy except that it only has three wheels. The wheels turn very smoothly and rolls pretty far. The cockpit can open up and Raphael can lay in there to drive it. There are two flick-fire missiles, one on each side of the vehicle. In the front, it may seem that there are flick-fire missiles there too but they are actually headlights. I wish a different Technic piece was used to differentiate between a missile and a headlight. On the back, there are dual exhaust flames.
Results
Overall, I think the Stealth Shell in Pursuit is a nicely valued set. At $19.99, you get three minifigures and two cool looking vehicles. I would recommend picking it up because I feel there will be a lot of play value with the Stealth Shell.
