LEGO Minecraft The Mountain Cave (21137) Officially Announced

LEGO has officially announced the largest set in the LEGO Minecraft theme with The Mountain Cave (21137). If you’ve been following my posts about it the past month, LEGO has been releasing teaser images of various parts of the set on their social media sites.

Coming in at 2,863 pieces and at $249.99, The Mountain Cave is the largest set in terms of piece count as well as pricing. It will be available on July 1 with VIP Early Access starting on June 15. Check out more images as well as the press release below.

The LEGO Group Achieves 100% Renewable Energy Target Three Years Early

Earlier today, The LEGO Group has announced that they have reached their 100% renewable energy target three years ahead of schedule. After spending about a DKK 6 billion/£700m investment over four years into offshore wind farms, the output from these projects have exceeded the energy use from the LEGO factories, offices, and stores globally. Their latest investment in the Burbo Bank Extension wind farm will provide power for more than 230,000 British households. You can read more about this milestone in the link above.

Facts about Burbo Bank Extension

The Burbo Bank Extension wind farm is a joint venture between DONG Energy (50%) and its partners PKA (25%) and KIRKBI A/S (25%), parent company of the LEGO Group.
The wind farm is located 7 kilometres off the coast of Liverpool and has a capacity of 258 megawatts, enough to supply renewable energy to 230,000 British households.
The wind farm consists of 32 MHI Vestas V164-8.0 MW wind turbines.
KIRKBI A/S invested approximately DKK 3.3 billion (GBP 375 million) in the construction of the wind farm, bringing the total amount invested in building offshore wind power to over DKK 6 billion (GBP 680 million).

Facts about the LEGO Group’s 100% renewable energy milestone

Since 2012, KIRKBI A/S has invested approximately DKK 6 billion in renewable energy on behalf of the LEGO Group, equivalent to 162 megawatts.
In addition to Burbo Bank Extension, KIRKBI A/S owns 31.5% of the Borkum Riffgrund 1 offshore wind farm in Germany, which can produce 312 megawatts and provide clean energy for 320,000 … Continue

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Thor: Ragnarok Official Images

It looks like the official images of the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Thor: Ragnarok sets are now up on LEGO’s servers as they are set to be put on Shop@Home. We had to take down the images from our previous post since they came from unverified sources. It was worth the wait as we also have the box art for the back of the boxes to show off some of the play features of the sets.

The last LEGO Minecraft set I’ll be reviewing for this wave of sets is The Jungle Temple (21132). The set has 598 pieces and retails for $49.99. The contents of the box include four numbered bags, two 16×16 dark gray baseplates, an 8×16 green baseplate, and two instruction booklets.

LEGO World of Creativity Tour Announced

LEGO has announced a new interactive experience tour for the United States called the LEGO World of Creativity Tour. There are five cities that will be part of the tour including Savannah, GA (July 7-9), Albuquerque, NM (August 4-6), Tacoma, WA (September 8-10), Boise, ID (September 29-October 1), and Madison, WI (October 13-15). Today was the big announcement for the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 video game. We now have the official press release for the game which has a bit more information than what I reported earlier from the teaser video post.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 Video Game Cover Art Revealed

In an update to my earlier post about the new LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 video game, Best Buy has revealed the cover art for the game as well as a short description of what we can expect.

As you can see from the image above, we can already see a lot of the character that will be in the game including Black Panther, Groot, Rocket Raccoon, Spider-Gwen, Doctor Strange, Captain Marvel, Spider-Man 2099, Gladiator Hulk, and Cowboy Captain America.

Best Buy has also revealed the release date for LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 as November 14, 2017.
