The LEGO Batman Movie Polybag Roundup

The LEGO Batman Movie

Many fans of The LEGO Batman Movie have been quite excited about the sets that have been released so far. There are also a lot of polybags to collect for the theme and some have already started to lose track of them so here’s a post to condense everything we know about them so far. I’ll continue to update this post if there are more polybags that show up.

The Mini Batmobile (30521)

There’s no word on the availability of The Mini Batmobile at this time but I’ll update this post when there’s news of it. You can check out my early review of the polybag here.

LEGO Message Boards Shutting Down in March

After over a decade of being online, the official LEGO Message Boards will be shutting down on March 6. This move makes way for more of LEGO’s resources to go to LEGO Life which they’ve started to push more for. The message boards are still active but check out the announcement post for deadlines to do things on there.

To be honest, I’ve been on there once or twice but I didn’t really get into it that much and somehow I don’t think it appealed to adults as it did with younger kids. Were you a part of the LEGO Message Boards and are you surprised that it’ll be closing down in a few months?

After much consideration, a very difficult decision has been reached that the Mods need to share with you all. The LEGO.com Message Boards will be retired on March 6, 2017. The entire community, including all forums and all content within them, will be taken offline permanently.

Just like a LEGO set, theme, game, or site nothing can last forever. In order to make way for the exciting features of the future we must occasionally retire older features. That is the current case with the message boards.

The Mods would like to thank you all for being such amazing community members. Every forum is filled with creative, inspiring, and exciting writings thanks to you! We truly appreciate the passion each of you has contributed to this community and hope that LEGO passion will carry through this transitional time.

LEGO Star Wars R3-M2 (40268) Polybag Found

LEGO Star Wars R3-M2 (40268)

It looks like 2017 is the year of the astromech droids as far as LEGO Star Wars polybags are concerned. There has been a new R3-M2 (40268) polybag that’s the traditional minifigure version that’s been found in a Romanian monobrand store. Upon some research, R3-M2 is from Rogue One.

If you look closely, you can see that it’s on it’s own stand and has a plaque card on the back with the name tag appearing to be a sticker. There’s even a Technic pin on the side of the stand that suggests there could be more polybags like this in the future.

I have a feeling that the R3-M2 (40268) will be this year’s May the 4th polybag promotion.

LEGO Creator Mini Volkswagen Beetle (40252) Building Instructions

LEGO Creator Mini VW Beetle (40252)

You may have seen an image of the LEGO Creator Mini Volkswagen Beetle (40252) floating around the internet for the past few weeks or so. The set is basically a smaller version of the Volkswagen Beetle (10252) which was released last year. The set is currently available in Hong Kong with a purchase of HK$2800 (~US$360) but word is that it will be going to Europe later this month and who knows if it will reach North America.

Luckily for everyone, LEGO has uploaded the building instructions in PDF form. I’ve also posted an images of the parts list for reference. The Mini Volkswagen Beetle does include stickers so you won’t be able to recreate the set completely but you can still build it. Some of the dark azure parts are fairly rare as well so building it in a different color is recommended too and I feel that many of you will be doing this.
