New LEGO Boost (17101) System Revealed

Last week, I reported on LEGO’s teaser of an announcement coming tomorrow but it looks like Engadget has already revealed it. The announcement is for a new theme called LEGO Boost (17101) which is somewhat similar to LEGO Mindstorms but geared towards younger kids. The base starter set will be priced at $159.99 and will be available later this year.

The set will have three Boost bricks in addition to 840 LEGO elements. The core unit is called the Move Hub which has a six-axis tilt sensor, two input and output ports, a power button and a light that changes color which was teased before. Powered by six AAA batteries, the other Boost bricks also have a combination color and distance sensor as well as an interactive motor which includes a tachometer.

The set also has instructions for five other models including Vernie the Robot, Frankie the Cat, the Guitar 4000, the Multi-Tool Rover 4, and an Autobuilder. To make the whole system work, there’s also a companion LEGO Boost app for you to download. The app is actually required as it has all the building instructions for the models as well as the programming.

You can read more about the details of individual models for LEGO Boost in the link above.

New Rumors of LEGO Star Wars UCS Millennium Falcon Coming

This year marks the 40th anniversary of Star Wars and rumors have started to swirl about a LEGO Star Wars UCS set that has been rumored for a while. It’s pretty easy from the image above that it’s the Millennium Falcon. There are various users on Eurobricks who have some information about the new UCS Millennium Falcon. Paperballpark mentions that it’ll have interchagable radar dishes, one round and one rectangular, so you can display it as it is shown in Episodes 4-6 or in Episode 7.

To give more speculation on the UCS Millennium Falcon, the box on the updated UCS Death Star (75159)icon shows a blacked out silhouette of the Falcon on the bottom left corner that is more prominent than the silhouettes of the other ships. This could absolutely mean nothing at all or LEGO could be hinting at it for a while.

Given that the original 10179 UCS Millennium Falcon is one of the most definitive sets in LEGO Star Wars history and a holy grail for many fans, a new one would be great news. Fans weren’t too happy with the re-release of the Death Star since it wasn’t retired for that long but it’s safe to say that they would welcome a re-release of the UCS Falcon with open arms and wallets. There are many factors that contribute to the set being legit such as the Star Wars 40th anniversary and reports from good sources like Paperballpark and a “friend” that makes me think the set will be coming sooner than … Continue

LEGO Star Wars R2-D2 (30611) Polybag Building Instructions

LEGO Star Wars R2-D2 (30611)

A few days ago, I reported on a new LEGO Star Wars R2-D2 (30611) polybag. This was a brick-built version of the droid which looks very cute. It looks like the instructions for the build are now online. It looks all the parts are fairly common except for the couple of printed 1×1 tile pieces for the front, which are exclusive. So if you already have all the parts, you can building R2-D2 pretty easily but have to do without the detailing in the front.

LEGO Architecture Guggenheim Museum (21035) Revealed

LEGO Architecture Guggenheim Museum 21035

The LEGO Architecture theme will be continuing this year and it looks like we have our first look at the Guggenheim Museum (21035) from the LEGO Italian Catalog. This updated version is larger and more detailed than the 2009 version. I believe this the second LEGO Architecture set to be redesigned from one that has been released before with the first being the Burj Khalifa (21008).

The new Guggenheim Museum (21305) joins Sydney (21302), Chicago (21033), and London (21035) as lineup for the Winter 2017 LEGO Architecture sets.

How to Get The LEGO Batman Movie Accessory Pack

The LEGO Batman Movie Accessory Pack

A few days ago, I reported on a new The LEGO Batman Movie Accessory Pack polybag. A reader has given some information on how to get this particular polybag. If you checked out the January 2017 LEGO Store Calendar, there is an in-store event that starts from January 2-February 26. From what I’ve been told, they’ll be little stickers of Batman hidden throughout the store and if you find them all, you can get one of these polybags.

As you can see from the image above, the Accessory Pack consists of Batman and the Batsignal along with a sticker sheet and a double-sided poster with the heroes on one side and the villains on the other.

It looks like there will be plenty of The LEGO Batman Movie Accessory Packs available since the event goes on for two month however those not close to a LEGO Store will probably have to get it from another source.

Thanks to Purple Dave for the heads up.

Update: I’ve had people say that this promotion won’t start until later in the month while I’ve heard others say they’ve gotten it. I guess it depends if the individual stores have everything set up or not. You may wamt to call and see if they’re ready.
