LEGO Star Wars Winter 2016 Sets to be Released in March

If you collect LEGO Star Wars sets here in the US, you probably have noticed that we never got the winter 2016 wave of sets while other parts of the world have already gotten them. According to the AZ Central, LEGO has confirmed today that they will be released in March. There’s no mentioning on what date they’ll be released but it’s usually at the beginning of the month. Keep in mind that we’ll also be getting Double VIP points a week in so if you can hold off a little longer, you’ll get more bang for your buck.

LEGO Deadpool Sets Posted by Ryan Reynolds

Earlier today, Ryan Reynolds posted on Twitter some LEGO sets promoting the upcoming Deadpool movie showing off some “spoilers” for the movie. He’s pretty much poking fun at the Toy Fairs like London and Nuremberg that show off upcoming products and the spoilery nature of LEGO sets based on movies. If you’re not familiar with Deadpool, he’s pretty much a super hero that tends to break the fourth wall with usually has a humorous effect.

The sets that are shown off include Deadpool Space Squid Shark Balloon Battle (6969) which has 1991 pieces and the other one is called Deadpool Hot Dogs Moose and Owl (2016) which has 8675309 pieces or Jenny’s number. Obviously both of these sets are fake but note that they use legit LEGO pieces which makes it even more hilarious.

New LEGO Holiday Train Rumored for 2016

The talk around the LEGO community the past few days is about new LEGO Holiday Christmas Train that is rumored to be coming out later this year. This was first reported by nesquik on Eurobricks and was brought to light by Just2Good. It was mentioned that it is not a re-release of the 2006 Holiday Train (10173) so we don’t have to worry about the same issue that happened last year with the re-release of the Winter Toy Shop (10248). Keep in mind that nesquik has given legit information before in the past so what they are saying could be true. Of course things can change by the time the holiday season rolls around so I wouldn’t put too much into this rumor until some concrete details are uncovered. If a new Holiday Train is actually coming out this winter, would you guys be picking it up?

Update: The new Winter Holiday Train (10254) has been officially announced.

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Avenjet Space Mission (76049)

I’ve finally had some free time for some building and today’s review is on the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes Avenjet Space Mission (76049). This is one of the newer Super Heroes sets that has been released so far for 2016 and is based on the Avengers Assemble animated series. The set contains 523 pieces and retails for $59.99. The contents of the box include four numbered bags, a bagged Thanos, a sticker sheet, a comic, and the instructions.

LEGO Star Wars: Rogue One Set Numbers

Continuing with the LEGO Star Wars news for today, this post pertains to the upcoming Rogue One sets that will be coming out later this year. The Rogue One subtheme was announced at the Nuremberg Toy Fair last week and there’s been much talk about it the past week or so, mainly if the Slave I shown in the image would be one of the sets along with Boba Fett.

There are now some new box outline images from a retailer catalog which I won’t be posting but they do give some detail in to the Rogue One sets. There are five sets based on the movie with set numbers:

75152
75153
75154
75155
75156

There are also three Buildable Figures based on the Rogue One movie with set numbers:

75119
75120
75121

Note that the background image does show a TIE Fighter flying in the back. Whether or not it will be a set or not remains to be seen. Obviously, there are no info yet on the prices, piece count, etc. but we should be getting more details later this summer. It’s been reported earlier that the sets will be released this October.
