LEGO Creator Modular Pet Shop (10218) Retiring Soon

Word has it that the LEGO Creator Modular Pet Shop (10218)icon is about to be retired. LEGO Brand Stores are mostly out of them or have very limited quantites available. Although it says out of stock on Shop@Home, you can still order it online or by over by phone but it will ship in 30 days. If you don’t have this set, now is the perfect time to get it since the Double VIP Points event has just started. Thanks to Anthony for the heads up.

New LEGO Jurassic World Video Game Instagram Teaser

LEGO Jurassic World

The official LEGO Jurassic Worldicon Instagram page has posted a teaser for the video game that says “Something really really big is coming.” We’re not sure what this teaser is about or how long we’ll be teased before it is revealed. I’m guessing it will be a longer trailer for the LEGO Jurassic World Video Game. Hopefully we don’t have to wait another month for more details about the game. Thanks to Nicholas for the heads up.

LEGO Double VIP Points Now Live Until March 29

The time that many buyers have been waiting for is now here! Double VIP Points on LEGO Shop@Home is now live and will also be available at LEGO Brand Stores in the morning. This offer will be going on until March 29 so you have about two weeks and change to get your purchases in for double points. It’s pretty much equates to 10% off your total purchase. If you saw our post from earlier today, there are also some unannounced sales going on in stores only and those sets also qualify for double points.

Unannounced Sales at LEGO Brand Stores

Today my LEGO Brand Store in Fashion Valley has an unannounced sale going ahead of the start of Double VIP Points tomorrow. There are many fairly older sets that are all 20% off which last until March 27. The sales are only in stores and not on Shop@Home. I believe other LEGO Stores across the US also have similar deals.

Also, at least in my store in Fashion Valley, the very popular LEGO Disney Frozen Elsa’s Sparkling Ice Castle (41062) is back in stock at regular price of $39.99 and I expect those to be sold pretty quickly. You may want to call in and check if there’s any left in stock before heading out.

No LEGO The Hobbit The Battle of Five Armies DLC Being Released

LEGO The Hobbit Video Game

It’s almost been a year since the LEGO The Hobbit Video Game was released which included the first two films in The Hobbit trilogy with An Unexpected Journey and Desolation of Smaug. Many fans have been waiting for a DLC for The Battle of Five Armies to complete the trilogy and TT Games has been pretty mum on whether or not a DLC would even be coming out.

Gamespot today has confirmed with Warner Bros. that there will not be a DLC for the third movie. There are also no plans for a completely new game based on The Battle of Five Armies. Below is Warner Bros. full statement on the issue:

“The LEGO The Hobbit videogame gives LEGO and Middle-earth fans a fun, new way to experience the legendary adventures of Bilbo and company as told in the first two films of Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit trilogy. The game provides an excellent set-up for the concluding chapter of Peter Jackson’s film, The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies. There are no plans to develop DLC based on the final film of the trilogy.”

It was stated unofficially last year at the London Toy Fair that the final part of the trilogy would come as a DLC that would need to be created. Time went by and fans have been asking when the DLC would be coming. I had no answer as there was nothing announced for it. Time when by and questions kept coming in with no response until today.

So there you have it. … Continue

LEGO Apple Watch Building Guides by Chris McVeigh

Earlier this week, Apple announced the new Apple Watch which fanboys are hyping up. They want to be the dominate force in the industry with their foray into the wearable device territory and its enticing features. The only problem with it is the high prices that are included with their products which range from $350 for the base model to $17,000 for the gold model.

Why buy the Apple Watch when you can build your own LEGO version with the free guides that Chris McVeigh has provided. There are two different versions that you can build with the Icon Edition and the Text Edition. Both are very easy to create with parts that you probably already have in your collection. Be one of the first to “own” the LEGO Apple Watch before it is available next month.
