LEGO The Simpsons Kwik-E-Mart (71016) Confirmed and Image

Back in October of last year, we exclusively reported that the LEGO The Simpsons line would be releasing another set this year with the Kwik-E-Mart (71016). Many people were skeptical about the set but we were pretty confident in our source of the news.

Today, there is definite confirmation in the set because there is a leaked image of the box coming from an Instagram post. As you can see, some of the minifigures included in the set are at least Apu, Marge, Chief Wiggum, and Snake who we saw before with the head mold image. In addition to the Kwik-E-Mart building itself, the set also includes Chief Wiggum’s police car. Also note that the E on the store sign is brick built while the other words are stickers.

According to the April 2015 LEGO Store Calendar, there is an exclusive set being released for LEGO VIP members from April 15-30 and I believe that it will be indeed the LEGO The Simpsons Kwik-E-Mart (71016) and will be released to the general public on May 1st. The official images of the set will be out in a few weeks.

So what are your guys’ thoughts on the set now that you seen a little teaser image of it?

Back to the Future Clock Tower Scene in LEGO

Remember the clock tower scene from Back to the Future where Doc Brown was sending Marty back to the future by using the lightning? The animation team at Macro LEGO Universe has recreated that particular scene at the Brick 2014 LEGO fan convention a few months ago and has released the video a few days ago. The team used the now retired LEGO CUUSOO The DeLorean Time Machine (21103) as well as part of the town of Hill Valley that they’ve built including the courthouse and the movie cinema to capture the scene. You can check out some of the behind the scenes shots over on their website.

LEGO BIONICLE Hero Pack (5002941) Review

From now until March 20 or while supplies last, every purchase you make from the LEGO Store or on Shop@Home will net you a LEGO BIONICLE Hero Pack (5002941). When you shop online, it will automatically be added to your shopping cart. The polybag consists of only 9 pieces but most of the contents are paper stuff which we’ll get into shortly.

On the Hero Pack polybag packaging, it shows pretty much what you’ll be getting which includes a booklet, a poster, a sticker sheet, and a package of pieces for the build. Note that the mask on the top right corner is not the usual Mask of Creation that we’ve seen in the current sets.

The booklet includes a short comic of Tahu getting his mask and fighting the Skull Spiders. There are also instuctions on how to build the Skull Spider. Finally you get images of the some of the BIONICLE sets in the current wave.

On one side of the poster, you get images of the different Toa masks as well as their gold versions. On the other side, you have a map of the island of Okoto. There are designations of what appears to be the locations of the golden masks.

The sticker sheet is the holographic kind and each of the stickers is of the Toa’s gold masks and the LEGO BIONICLE logo. It’s the same type of material that’s been used before in other stickers so it’s nothing too special about it.

LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham The Squad Pack DLC Available Today

LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham - The Squad Pack DLC

The final DLC Pack for LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham has been released today, The Squad Pack. There are a number of characters you can play as including Captain Boomerang, Amanda Waller, Deathstroke, King Shark, El Diablo, Katana, Deadshot, and Harley Quinn. The Squad Pack DLC will be available for you to download if you already have the Season Pass. If you don’t have the Season Pass, you can purchase it seperately for $2.99. Check out The Squad Pack trailer below. What’s interesting about the trailer is that it did mention The Squad as Task Force X. I’m not sure why WB/TT Games didn’t go with that name.

In The Squad add-on content pack, a mysterious figure has infiltrated Belle Reve Penitentiary, and it’s up to players to smash their way through the prison as Deadshot, Deathstroke, Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang and other members of The Squad to hunt down this infiltrator before Amanda Waller’s—and The Squad’s—secrets are uncovered.

LEGO Factory Tour 2015 by Michael Bradford

Untitled

During last week’s LEGO press conference for the 2014 Annual Results, fellow reader Michael Bradford, who has provided the Collectible Minifigures Compendiums, was lucky enough to attend the event. At the same time, he also took a tour of the LEGO factory in Billund, Denmark and has given an exclusive look on how our favorite bricks were made. Usually filming on the factory floor isn’t allowed but Michael had access to and has given us a look on how LEGO creates the bricks. You can also read more about Michael’s trip in his post.

As someone who has worked in a plastics factory before, it does give a nostalgic feeling of seeing all the molds and raw ABS materials. If you haven’t seen the National Geographic’s Mega Factories about LEGO, you can check that out too.
