The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies Pre-Order at Target (Includes Exclusive LEGO Minifigures)

The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies

As we guessed earlier this month, the LEGO The Hobbit Bain variant minifigure that was found will be included in the Target Exclusive Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital HD combo pack. Not only do you get that minifigure, you also get the not-very-exclusive Bard the Bowman minifigure that was previously from San Diego Comic Con 2014 and is now in the The Battle of Five Armies (79017) set.

You can now pre-order The Hobbit: BOFA Blu-Ray/DVD/Digital HD on Target’s website for $26.99. These type of movie promo sets usually sell out pretty quickly so get your orders in if you want to guarantee yourself a copy. There’s no release date yet on the movie but I believe it’ll be sometime this spring.

The LEGO Movie: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack Vinyl Available in February

For the vinyl enthusiasts out there, you’ll be happy to know that The LEGO Movie: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack will be available as a Double LP set next month on Amazon.

The Double LP will be packaged in a full color gatefold jack and will include an eight page 12″ x 12″ fully colored booklet with liner notes by composer Mark Mothersbaugh. The album itself is the same as the on the audio CD version which includes the full 24-track score plus four different versions of Everything is Awesome which is nominated for Best Original Song at the 2015 Oscars.

If you’re the hardcore vinyl collector, there are also some limited special edition colored vinyl variants of the LP that will be available exclusively at SpaceLab9. These colored versions are based around The LEGO Movie’s key characters including red and yellow. The other colored haven’t been announced but I’m going to guess blue for Benny and pink for Unikitty.

LEGO at the 2015 London Toy Fair

The 2015 London Toy Fair will be happening in the next three days and I’m pretty sure we’ll be getting some reports from various sources on what will be happening at the LEGO booth there. I believe photography is prohibited there so we’ll have to go with with attendees remember seeing.

We’ve already seen set rumors for various themes that will be releasing this summer but there could be more information about the Summer 2015 sets such as piece count and pricing. We’ll try to keep you updated throughout the next couple of days as information becomes available.

If you’re going to be attending The Toy Fair in London, contact us and give us your account of what you saw there.

LEGO Galaxy Squad Officially Retired

If you held off on getting any LEGO Galaxy Squad sets, it looks like your time is up. The theme has officially been retired and has been removed from LEGO Shop@Home. Although you can still find the sets individually if you search hard enough on the site, you can’t purchase anything. The theme was first introduced in 2013 and had two waves since then and had a mixed reaction with fans. Some really liked it because of the elements that came with it, some just didn’t get into it at all. Personally, it seemed kind of cool but wasn’t my kind of thing.

If you still need to pick up a couple of the LEGO Galaxy Squad sets, Amazon as well as Toys R Us currently has them on sale. I highly suggest picking them up before prices start to rise in the next few months.

What were your thoughts of the LEGO Galaxy Squad theme? Did you like it? Did you not like it?
