LEGO has just announced updated rules and guidelines for LEGO Ideas which will allow more possibilities to new projects. Announced a few days ago, they have upped the maximum number of elements for a build from 3,000 to 5,000. There is now also a minimum 200 element count for submissions. Lastly, LEGO has provided a minifigure-to-element ratio guide. These changes are now in effect and are not retroactively applied to already submitted projects.

We’ve listened to your feedback and are excited to announce some updates to our Product Ideas rules and guidelines:
• The maximum number of elements a build can feature will be raised from 3,000 to 5,000 elements.

We know building constraints can be tough. Especially when it comes to adding the finishing touches and decoration, only for you to realize you’re at 3,000 elements.
