New Guidelines for BrickLink Designer Program

We’re a little over a month away from the submission phase for the Series 6 BrickLink Designer Program and it looks like they have updated the submission guidelines for what they will be accepting. The main one that sticks out the most is that Modular Buildings will no longer be accepted although other style buildings can still be used.

In addition, depicting harm to animals is now also prohibited. Fishing is still allowed as well as any element that is used to depict food. Also you cannot use animals in zoos, circuses, aquariums or any other situations where they are used for human entertainment. Animals can only be shown in their natural environment.

Lastly, BrickLink wants to avoid highlighting fossil fuels but historical vehicles that use fossil fuels are still accepted.

Some other legalese include avoiding LEGO IP themes such as Ninjago, DREAMZzz, Friends, and Monkie Kid. Castle and Classic Space models cannot sure the various faction names.

For minifigure usage, there is a maximum of one minifigure for every 325 parts and each minifigure head can only be used once.

The Series 6 BrickLink Designer Program will start accepting submissions in 36 days and will run until for about a week and change so if there are any changes that you need to make, now is a good time to check to see if you meet these new guidelines.

LEGO Ideas Vintage Radio – Listen to Your Favorite Music! Achieves 10,000 Supporters

Vintage Radio – Listen to Your Favorite Music! by dimexart is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. Again this is another project in this review stage that has some bad luck as LEGO has already released the LEGO Icons Retro Radio (10334) which is similar features including the one where you can put your phone inside and have it playing music.

The project joins Claw Machine Wallace & Gromit – A Grand Day Out, Pioneer CDJ 2000 Nexus Multi Player, Impression Sunrise – Monet, The Loneliness of the Voyager – NASA’s Voyager Mission, Humpback Whale Breach, Tintin – Space Rocket, The Iron Giant in the Forest, Tetris Solid, Working Image Projector “Magic Lantern”, Popcorn Machine, Arsenal F.C. – The Invincibles, Sony Walkman, Sony Walkman, Hydroelectric Power Plant, Floating Sea Otter, Avatar: The Last Airbender!, Blacksmith – Wild West, Bluey!!, New Holland CR Combine, Wednesday The Room and The Balcony, Lisbon Tram (Electrico 28), Market Village, Modular Post Office in Neoclassical Style, Working River Rapids Ride – Fairground Rafting Coaster, and Italian Riviera as the ones to reach the Second 2024 Review Stage.

LEGO Harry Potter Pencil Case Promotion at Walmart

Apparently there’s a LEGO Harry Potter promotion going on that I just heard about which is for a free pencil case when you purchase LEGO sets at Walmart. When you make a purchase of select LEGO sets, you can email them or upload your receipt to the landing page and they will ship you the LEGO Harry Potter Pencil Case for free. Walmart does a pretty bad job in advertising their LEGO promotions as this one has been going on for a month already and will run until September 20, while supplies last. Purchases have to be made between July 15 – September 15 and through Walmart and not third party sellers.

LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy Official Trailer

Earlier today, the official trailer for LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy was released with more scenes of what we can expect from the show. The four piece special event will be airing on September 13 on Disney+. LEGO currently has a few sets available on the LEGO Shop for the show including Jedi Bob’s Starfighter (75388), The Dark Falcon (75389), and TIE Fighter & X-Wing Mash-up (75393).

Paris 2024 Olympics US Rugby Bronze Medallist LEGO Mega Fan Sammy Sullivan

Last week at the Paris 2024 Olympics, the US Women’s Rugby team took the bronze medal against Australia and an interesting fact from Sammy Sullivan’s post medal interview is that she’s self-proclaimed LEGO mega fan. When she’s not training with her team, she’s building LEGO during her downtime. She also attributes LEGO to helping with her mental health and just having a relaxing evening building LEGO sets. You can see from the video below, she likes to build sets from all sizes. Now she’s just waiting for a shout out from LEGO which still I don’t think I’ve seen yet.
