LEGO Ideas The Neverending Story (40th Anniversary) Removed from Third 2022 Review Stage Due to Copyright Takedown

At the beginning of the month, LEGO announced the projects that moved on to the LEGO Ideas Third 2022 Review Stage but it looks like another project has been removed. This time, The Neverending Story (40th Anniversary) by FACEBRICKUP was removed due to a copyright takedown request from the license holder a few days after the announcement. LEGO didn’t mention who submitted the copyright takedown. It’s safe to say that we’ll probably never see another project based on The Neverending Story again.

This was the second project that reached the 10k but later had to be removed due to certain reasons, the first being the Holiday Village w/Train (Working). LEGO didn’t give a reason for that one. The LEGO Ideas blog post has been updated to show that 35 submissions will be moving on in the Review Stage.

LEGO Ideas Retro Comic Store Achieves 10,000 Supporters

The Retro Comic Store by LEGOverwatch is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. The build consists of 2,989 pieces and it features a two story building with the upper level being a bedroom.

The project joins Dr. Seuss and LEGO, Sweet Honey, The Botanical Garden, The Crown – A Piece of History, Stargate SG1: Embarkation Room, Roscosmos Soyuz MS Spacecraft, Motorized Howl’s Moving Castle, The Stargate, Medieval Seaside Market, and Brick Boulevard as the ones to reach the Third 2023 Review Stage.

LEGO Houses of the World 1 (40583) Sold Out Online

Less than a week ago, LEGO launched the Houses of the World 1 (40583) promotion which was one of the higher price point ones and it looks like it has sold out. Even at a $250 purchase requirement, it managed to sell out online, at least here in the US.

It’s not too surprising since LEGO just released a ton of new sets for 2023 and there’s still three more sets in the series for later this year. Currently, it goes for about $50-$60 on the secondary market. The Lunar New Year VIP Add-On Pack (40605) has also sold out but that promo only needed a $50 purchase.

There is still the Year of the Rabbit (40575) promotion which runs until January 25 so you have a few days left on that one. It requires a $85 purchase for both in-stores and online.
