LEGO Ideas Donkey Kong Archived – No Longer Considered for Second 2024 Review Stage

The Donkey Kong project by If You Build which reached 10,000 supporters a few weeks ago on LEGO Ideas has been officially archived. There’s no public official comment from LEGO of why the project was archived but my guess is that it conflicts with the current Donkey Kong sets on the LEGO Shop. Perhaps LEGO already has a similar set in production for a future release and didn’t want it to interfere with that one. Obviously, that’s just a wild guess on my part so don’t take it as fact. As a result of the project being archived, it will not be moving on to the Second 2024 Review Stage.

LEGO Botanical Collection Poinsettia and Wreath Officially Announced

Today LEGO has announced two new additions to the LEGO Icons Botanical Collection: LEGO Icons Poinsettia and LEGO Icons Wreath! Perfect display pieces for the LEGO enthusiast to have some festive flare at home. No need to water or take care of withering leaves either, just a little bit of dusting and a whole lot of protection from swiping cats or any curious little ones nearby will do. These two models will be available for pre-order on starting today through LEGO stores and select retailers and will officially launch on October 1.

The LEGO Icons Poinsettia (10370) is a 608-piece posable plant replica modeled after the “Grande Italia” poinsettia aka the festive poinsettias you’d see during the Christmas season! There is no need for vases as LEGO has included a buildable woven-basket flowerpot. It has five clusters of the unmistakable feature of a poinsettia—its red leaves, along with its green leaves from its stem. LEGO’s particular eye for detail even captured the yellow cyathia at its center, which is typical for poinsettias. It is priced at $49.99.

The LEGO Icons Wreath (10340) is a 1,194-piece wall or table decoration. It also can be turned into a garland by using the four hanging loops included. It even comes with different types of decorations to customize your wreath to your liking using the included orange slices, cinnamon, pinecones, red, blue and white berries. The set will retail for $99.99.
