LEGO Announces Double Digit Growth for 1HY 2024

LEGO has released their financial results for the first half of 2024 and they have delivered double digit top and bottom line growth. Revenue grew by 13% while consumer sales grew by 14% which was driven by a demand for a strong and diverse portfolio.

For the first half of the year, LEGO has released about 300 sets and some of the top performing themes include LEGO Icons, LEGO City, LEGO Technic, LEGO Star Wars, and LEGO Harry Potter.

The LEGO Group delivers double-digit top- and bottom-line growth in H1 2024

Significantly outpaced toy industry and grew market share.
Continued strategic investments to drive growth while further accelerating sustainability initiatives.

Highlights vs. H1 2023

• Revenue grew 13 percent to DKK 31.0 billion.
• Consumer sales grew 14 percent driven by demand for a strong and diverse portfolio.
• Market share grew as the LEGO Group continued to significantly outperform the toy market.
• Operating profit grew 26 percent to DKK 8.1 billion driven by strong top-line while spending on strategic initiatives increased as planned in H1. Net profit grew 16 percent to DKK 6.0 billion.
• Free cash flow was DKK 3.0 billion due to strong top-line performance while investments continued in building new factories and expanding facilities and offices.
• 30 percent of all resin purchased in H1 was certified mass balance, which translates to an estimated average of 22 percent material from renewable and recycled sources in the raw materials the company uses to make LEGO® bricks.

LEGO Star Wars: Character Encyclopedia Fan Vote winner Announced

A few weeks ago, LEGO did a fan vote over on LEGO Ideas to choose the feature character for the upcoming LEGO Star Wars Character Encyclopedia: Updated Edition. The votes have been counted and not surprisingly, the character that fans wanted most is Ahsoka Tano.

LEGO Star Wars Character Encyclopedia: Updated Edition will be released in 2025 and will feature over 200 minifigures from LEGO Star Wars with facts and figures about them.

Gravity Falls: The Mystery Shack by Minibrick Productions is the latest project to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. The 1,900 piece build features the Mystery Shack with a detailed interior and includes seven minifigures.

LEGO September 2024 Shopping Guide

September is coming up fast and here’s a quick guide on the new LEGO sets that will be releasing during the month on the LEGO Shop. The main releases for the month include The Legend of Zelda Great Deku Tree (77092), The Nightmare Before Christmas (21351) which releases on September 3 for Insiders and The Burrow – Collector’s Edition (76437).

Speaking of The Burrow, there are some Harry Potter gift with purchase sets that are tied into it. Borgin and Burker: Floo Network (40695) will be avaialble with Harry Potter purchases of $130. There’s also the Collectible Weasley Clock (5009008) which is only available with The Burrow. Lastly, the Draco in the Forbidden Forest (30677) polybag is available with Harry Potter purchases of $40. These GWPs will run until September 10, while supplies last.
