LEGO has announced the winners of the LEGO Ideas Exploring the Cosmos building contest in which the winning builds will become future LEGO gift with purchase sets. The grand prize winner for the Base build is Micro Rail Command Center by Falkorich and the winner of the Vehicle build is Moon Car by EnchantingNoodle. LEGO has already started the process so we’ll probably see it later this year or early next year.
The LEGO Group has released their earnings report from 2023 and revenue was up despite a slow toy market. Revenue was up 2% compared to 2022 while consumer sales grew 4%. The top performing themes include LEGO Icons, LEGO City, LEGO Technic, LEGO Star Wars, and LEGO Harry Potter.

Highlights FY 2023 vs. FY 2022
• Revenue was DKK 65.9 billion up 2 percent despite declining toymarket.
• Consumer sales* grew 4 percent.
• Outperformed the toy market and significantly grew market share globally.
• Operating profit was DKK 17.1 billion against DKK 17.9 billion in 2022 as the company accelerated spending on strategic initiatives to support growth. Operating profit grew 7 percent in H2 vs. H2 2022.
• Cash flow from operating activities increased 1 percent to DKK 15.4 billion.
• 60 percent increase in spending on environmental initiatives in 2023.
BILLUND, DENMARK, March 12, 2024: The LEGO Group today reported earnings for the full year 2023. The company grew revenue two percent to DKK 65.9 billion despite a difficult external operating environment and significantly outpaced the toy market, growing market share. Operating profit was a solid DKK 17.1 billion as the company accelerated spending on short- and long-term strategic initiatives.

LEGO has officially revealed a new Batman: The Animated Series set with Gotham City (76271). Releasing on April 1, the set has 4,210 pieces and retails for $299.99. The set features a whole skyline of Gotham City with a 3D look with various parts of the set that can open up to reveal more details. Discovery Global Consumer Products and DC, unveils the LEGO® DC Batman Gotham City Skyline set, an amazing recreation of Gotham City as it appears in in “Batman: The Animated Series.” This atmospheric set, a 3D recreation of the Gotham City skyline in LEGO bricks, releases as Warner Bros. Discovery celebrates 85 years of Batman throughout 2024.
The 4,210 piece set is a Batman fan’s dream as every tower and building meticulously recreates iconic locations from Warner Bros. Animation’s “Batman: The Animated Series” including the Gotham City Court, Arkham Asylum, the classic Batwing and Bat Signal. The set is also full of Easter eggs and beloved characters including Catwoman, The Joker, Harley Quinn and Batman himself. In addition, parts of the set open up to reveal more intricacies inside.
