LEGO Announces Pilot Program for New Set Color Schemes

After the accidental reveals of some existing LEGO sets in new color schemes earlier this month, LEGO has officially announced a pilot program for these sets. Unfortunately, they are exclusively doing it over in the UK so the rest of the world won’t be able to participate and there will be limited availability for them. You’ll have until November 30 to get your orders in, while supplies last. The only set that is not exclusive to the UK is the Fiat 500 which ships internationally. Below is a list of what retails have which sets available for purchase.

The LEGO Group is running a pilot with a small number of products to gain a deeper understanding of what our fans want from our portfolio and where they prefer to shop for new or unique products.

The pilot includes variations of some of our existing products, so we can find out more about the colors and sizes of sets that fans of all ages want to see more of in our portfolio.

LEGO 4×4 Mercedes-Benz Zetros Trial Truck (42129) Review

For my other review of the summer 2021 LEGO Technic sets, I have the other larger set in the wave with the 4×4 Mercedes-Benz Zetros Trial Truck (42129). The set has 2,110 pieces and retails for $299.99. It is able to use the newer CONTROL+ system to remotely control it. The parts are packed into bags numbered to six as well as bags for the motors and hub. There is also a very large sticker sheet as well. Again, I’m not all too familiar with Technic so I probably will get some of the terminology wrong.

LEGO Vice President of Design Matthew Ashton Teases New Set Announcement

A few months ago, LEGO released the Everyone is Awesome (40516) which was designed by Vice President of Design Matthew Ashton and it looks like he’ll have another set that will be released later this year. Over on his Instagram, he did a Q&A and someone asked when should we expect Matt Ashton set #2 of this year. He replied with “If everything goes according to plan, there should be an announcement coming out on this fairly soon within the next two or three weeks so watch this space.”

It has been rumored that the set Matthew is referring to could be the LEGO Queer Eye Apartment (10291) set coming out later this year. We’ll just have to wait and see LEGO’s announcement of whatever Matthew is talking about.

LEGO September 2021 Promotions Update

A few days ago, the LEGO September 2021 Store Calendar came out but we were met with a disappointment as it didn’t actually show any promotions for the month except for the in-store one. Earlier today, the LEGO Affiliate Team sent over details for what is going on next month and it looks like there will be more promos for September but it’ll be old ones. From the looks of it, LEGO still has plenty of the August promos left over as pretty much all the main ones have also been pushed to September. The Swing Ship Ride was from June and it’ll also be back.

• LEGO® VIPs will receive a free Swing Ship Ride GWP with any purchase of $85 or more while supplies last from 9/6 – 9/12.
• Until 9/19, receive a free LEGO® Super Mario Fuzzy & Mushroom Platform Expansion Set GWP with purchase of any LEGO® Super Mario product $40 or more.
• During the month of September receive a free LEGO® Master’s Book of Secrets GWP with purchase of any LEGO® Classic product over $60.
• From 9/13 – 9/30, shoppers will receive a free fan-created LEGO® Sailboat Adventure GWP with any purchase over $200 while supplies last.
