The LEGO Volkswagen T2 Camper Van (10279) was released a few days ago and today, LEGO dropped the designer video for the set. LEGO designer Sven talks about some of the features for the second iteration of the camper van.
The 2,207 piece LEGO Volkswagen T2 Camper Van (10279) is still available for purchase on the LEGO Shop for $179.99. With your purchase, it gets you closer to the LEGO Ideas Sailboat Adventure promotion which you can get with a $200 purchase.
The LEGO Super Mario Bowser’s Castle Boss Battle (71369) is currently on sale on Amazon for 20% off. The set was named Playset of the Year by the Toy Association earlier this year for its innovative play features. It is priced at $79.98 which is $20 off the normal retail price for this 1,010 piece set.
The Jaws project by Diving Faces is the latest one to achieve 10,000 supporters on LEGO Ideas. The build is based on the first movie from 1975 and it features the ORCA and the great white shark. It also includes minifigures of Brody, Hooper, and Quint.
The project now joins Imperial Island Fort, Movie Set, Lifeguard’s Shack, A-Frame Cabin, Spaceballs, The Costume Store, Boston Dynamics Spot 1:4 Scale Motorized Model, Medieval Tavern, Tavern Under the Snow, Women of Computing, Working Mini Golf Course, Brick Walk, Medieval Harbor, Floating Island (Using Tensegrity), Scooby Doo Mystery Machine, Aircraft Engine Workshop, Airport Firetruck Rosenbauer PANTHER 8×8, GameStop Classic Shop, Traditional German Cottage, Outer Solar System, and Knight Rider: KITT and the FLAG Mobile Command Unit as the ones to reach the Second 2021 Review Stage.
LEGO has officially announced its next LEGO Harry Potter exclusive set with the Hogwarts Icons Collectors’ Edition (76391). Releasing on September 2, the set has 3,010 pieces and will retail for $249.99.
The set features Hedwig as the centerpiece but it also includes a number of other Hogwarts related items including Harry’s glasses and wand, a chocolate frog, Tom Riddle’s diary, the Golden Snitch, a school scarf, and a potions tray with five potions such as Asphdel, Gillyweed, Polyjuice Potion, Infusion of Wormwood, and Felix Felicis. Also in the set are three exclusive golden minifigures of Albus Dumbledore, Minerva McGonagall and Rubeus Hagrid with a stand featuring the chocolate frog card box. Finally, there’s a Hogwarts acceptance letter from Professor McGonagall.

The LEGO Group is celebrating 20 years of LEGO Harry Potter with the reveal of the LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Icons Collectors’ Edition, an intricate display model and a perfect homage to the fan-favourite Wizarding World.
The detailed new set follows the adventures of Harry Potter and his friends, capturing some of the most iconic characters and moments in one, single stunning model. The set also includes several famous artifacts found in the Wizarding World over the last two decades.

It looks like the LEGO VIDIYO sales have started to hit Walmart in stores as the BeatBox sets have been heavily discounted. People have been able to find them for only $5 which is 75% off the regular retail price of $19.99. This comes off the heels of the recent news that the theme will be on hiatus in 2022 to be restructured into a new play experience in 2023. Your mileage may vary as not all stores will have the sale but it’s worth a try. Other countries have already discounted the sets and this is probably the first time I’ve seen it with a big discount in the US.
The LEGO Ideas Sailboat Adventure (40487) promotion is now available to the general public. If you’re not a VIP member (why not?), you can now get your hands on it as well with purchases of $200 or more. Not surprisingly, it did not sell out to VIPs in the first couple of days of the month because of the fairly high purchasing requirement to get it. The promotion will run until August 29 or while supplies last.
The BrickLink Designer Program has relaunched again in which you can pre-order some of the projects from the first crowdfunding round. This allows the Kakapo, Great Fishing Boat, Sheriff’s Safe, and Pursuit of Flight to be able to sell up to 10,000 sets to match the Castle in the Forest however you won’t be able to order the castle since it already reached 10k. BrickLink/LEGO is also setting a maximum order limit of one set per customer so more people have a chance to buy it. Let’s see how fast these will sell out this time.
