To get fans hyped for LEGO CON 2021 tomorrow, LEGO has put up a free item in the LEGO Rewards Center. For the low price of 0 VIP points, you can get the LEGO CON 2021 Wallpapers Pack which consists of wallpapers for your desktop or mobile devices. It’s nothing too fancy but free is free. Below is a sample of what you can get but there’s more images in various sized provided.

LEGO CON 2021 kicks off tomorrow at 9am PST/12pm EST and there should be a LEGO Star Wars set reveal somewhere in there. I’m guessing it’ll be towards the end so people keep watching the show.

LEGO adidas Originals Superstar (10282) Delayed at adidas

For those who have been waiting for the new adidas Superstar shoe and the LEGO adidas Originals Superstar (10282) set to launch on July 1 over on adidas’s site, there is some bad news as both items have been delayed. We have been notified that due to some unexpected transportation delays, it won’t be available on adidas’s channel until July 30 but it will still be be available on July 1 on the LEGO Shop. This is only relevant if you have some rewards over on adidas but I’m assuming most of you will be purchasing from LEGO.

There have been unexpected transportation delays on both the Superstar wearable and Superstar LEGO set, meaning adidas will be launching the Superstar wearable shoe and 10282 Superstar LEGO set July 30th instead of July 1st through adidas. 10282 will still be available via LEGO channels July 1st.

LEGO adidas Originals Superstar (40486) GWP Details

LEGO adidas Originals Superstar (40486)

Yesterday we did our review on the LEGO adidas Originals Superstar (40486) gift with purchase set and if you didn’t see it yet, we revealed the details on how to get it. To get the 92 piece set, you’ll have to make a purchase of $85/€95/£95 from July 1-25, while supplies last. If you look at the price threshold, it is a little bit more than the 10282 buildable shoe which costs $79.99, if you were to get it. That means you’ll need to add a cheaper item or two to get you over the hump. An interesting sales tactic from LEGO if you ask me. As I mentioned in my review, the adidas GWP is a cute set but I don’t think it is worth a $85 purchase.

LEGO Ideas Earth Globe Teased in Video?

Yesterday, LEGO announced they have revealed the first prototype LEGO brick made from recycled plastic. In the video, could LEGO have teased part of the Earth Globe which was the winner of the First 2020 Review Stage on LEGO Ideas? It is currently under development with at least two more projects to be released ahead of it so there’s still a long ways away from being ready. The land masses have some updated coloring and parts for the terrain but the building style is pretty similar. Of course, this is just speculation and it’s just a brick-built globe LEGO had but it does make you wonder just a little bit. Thanks to Federico for the eagle eye.

LEGO adidas Originals Superstar (40486) Review

LEGO adidas Originals Superstar (40486)

Last week, we got our first look at the LEGO adidas Originals Superstar (40486) gift with purchase set that was shown in the designer video for the larger 10282 version. This 92 piece set will be available from July 1-25 with purchases of $85/€95/£95 or more on the LEGO Shop. You do not need to purchase the buildable adidas Superstar to get it but it will look nice next to it.

The set comes with a minifigure dressed as a adidas shoebox. The box is actually the 2×3 brick costume piece that we’ve seen before in previous Collectible Minifigures series with a tiled sticker on the front. He wears a white cap and has a microphone and boombox as accessories.

The sole of the shoe is made up of plates with the front using a modified 4×4 and the heel using a round 4×4 plate to get the angles. I will say that the back heel is very flimsy until you attach it to the sole. To get the look of the tongue, it uses a 2×6 plate with T-Pieces for the laces. There’s also an adidas sticker on a 2×2 slope at the end. The side designs uses printed 1×2 tiles.

From I’ve read online, fans really dig the smaller LEGO adidas Originals Superstar (40486) build and it does look really cute. The threshold to get it is a little high for what you get but it is a licensed product. I would say $45-$55 would have been a better purchasing limit for it.
