LEGO CON 2021 Post-Event Press Release

LEGO has just released a press release regarding LEGO CON 2021 and its “great success” for the event. I wouldn’t say it was great but it was entertaining here and there. I did like the interviews with the various LEGO designers as well as NASA astronaut Mike Massimino. The interactivity with viewers was also decent especially with the LEGO DOTS mosaic.

There were also some things that I didn’t really like about it. The main thing was the connection issues with the stream. I was watching/listening to it at work and suddenly there was silence. I thought my network went down but it was the actual stream that crashed and gave an error. I saw that others also had the same issue and I think it happened a few times.

As for the set reveals, there were a couple of them, one for LEGO Ideas and one for LEGO Star Wars. They announced the We Love Sport! set which was the Foosball Table but some people already knew that because LEGO accidentally posted it a few days ago before taking it down. The other annnoucement was for the Summer 2021 Mandalorian sets. One disappointment was that many fans were expecting the reveal of the UCS Republic Gunship which didn’t happen at all. The other “reveals” like the new LEGO Super Mario range and LEGO VIDIYO Boombox were already known about so they weren’t really reveals.

Overall, the event was a decent event that could be improved on if LEGO decides to make it an annual event.… Continue

LEGO Ideas We Love Sports! Winner Announced

A few days ago when LEGO announced the winner of the LEGO Ideas Third 2020 Review Stage, they were also supposed to reveal the winner of the We Love Sports! as well. That was delayed until today for LEGO CON 2021 and they have just announced that the Foosball Table by Constructions by Donat has been chosen to become a LEGO Ideas set. It will now go to the production phase and be released at a future date.

LEGO adidas Originals Superstar (10282) Delayed at adidas

For those who have been waiting for the new adidas Superstar shoe and the LEGO adidas Originals Superstar (10282) set to launch on July 1 over on adidas’s site, there is some bad news as both items have been delayed. We have been notified that due to some unexpected transportation delays, it won’t be available on adidas’s channel until July 30 but it will still be be available on July 1 on the LEGO Shop. This is only relevant if you have some rewards over on adidas but I’m assuming most of you will be purchasing from LEGO.

There have been unexpected transportation delays on both the Superstar wearable and Superstar LEGO set, meaning adidas will be launching the Superstar wearable shoe and 10282 Superstar LEGO set July 30th instead of July 1st through adidas. 10282 will still be available via LEGO channels July 1st.

LEGO adidas Originals Superstar (40486) GWP Details

LEGO adidas Originals Superstar (40486)

Yesterday we did our review on the LEGO adidas Originals Superstar (40486) gift with purchase set and if you didn’t see it yet, we revealed the details on how to get it. To get the 92 piece set, you’ll have to make a purchase of $85/€95/£95 from July 1-25, while supplies last. If you look at the price threshold, it is a little bit more than the 10282 buildable shoe which costs $79.99, if you were to get it. That means you’ll need to add a cheaper item or two to get you over the hump. An interesting sales tactic from LEGO if you ask me. As I mentioned in my review, the adidas GWP is a cute set but I don’t think it is worth a $85 purchase.
